Henry Yuen: An overview of MIP* = RE and some of its ingredients

In this talk I’ll explain the statement of the MIP* = RE result in the language of nonlocal games (picking up where Lewis Bowen’s talk left off). I’ll first explain how the result connects to Tsirelson’s problem, Kirchberg’s conjecture, and Connes’ embedding conjecture. I will then highlight two important components of our argument: one is the use of a compression procedure on nonlocal games plus a recursion argument to argue that the quantum value of nonlocal games cannot be approximated. The other is a family of nonlocal games that are highly efficient tests for high dimensional entanglement. (April 10, 2020)
