The State of Texas have had ample time to prepare for this. Citizens of Texas should not be without power.

We were out 10hr. How is that acceptable? When can I expect this to happen again? Why wasn’t a warning given in advance so we could prepare?

It's noon now in Texas and there are currently 2.7 million without power.

They keep talking about the high demand while downplaying how much power generation failed. It's like they're trying to blame people for running their heaters, which is BS. Anyone who has lived through a Texas summer knows people run their AC just as much as people are running their heaters now, I find it very hard to believe the power demand is THAT MUCH GREATER than it is in the summer.

They basically reduced by shutting everybody's power off. Seriously! Controlled outages, does that mean no power or heat for almost 24 hours! You should be at your so called level by now, because sounds like 2 million customers aren't using their power.

This is not acceptable and people need to be held accountable. I’m sure that my bill will be the same if not more next month.

This makes no sense. Rolling blackouts were intended to be a way to control the demand on the system but people have been without power since 2 AM? It is 12 degrees in Richardson. I’ve been without power since 9:15 AM. Texans are not prepared for this type of situation. No power and below freezing temps? This is inexcusable.

When your power comes back on, if will take more electric
to heat up.

I have a newborn preemie baby, I haven’t had ANY electricity in almost 24hrs. This is bull$@!/, Controlled yeah right. I’m in Fort Worth Texas suffering among my friends, family, and neighbors. SHUT DOWN ALL CITY BUILDINGS DOWNTOWN. You would get plenty of power from THOSE NON ESSENTIALS, NOT AMERICAN LIVES. Oh yeah, that’s right, those businesses bring in more money for you not US.

Why don't those big buildings downtown Dallas turn off their lights. Why don't all outside lights get turned off. Talk about conserving. I know those buildings don't have that many people in there.

Our neighborhood has been without power for 10hours and its 50 degrees in our house I can handle a power outage for an hour but this is ridiculous, it's going to take more power to bring my home back up to 68 degrees than it would have if it hadn't been off for 10 hrs

Anyone else think it time to get really completion for Oncor? Fire these guys- 12 hours no power 22degrees indoors. I worry their are going to be lots of deaths.. they better be held accountable because they know 10-12 hrs is not a controlled outage. It is lose of control and failure to plan

"Electric Reliability" what a joke. Time to do away with ERCOT, and start all still NOT government associated.

This is a total failure of the Texas power grid

If I hear “controlled outage” one more time..
We’ve been WITHOUT power ALL DAY — stop blaming people and get your equipment fixed and weather proofed!
This is ridiculous, even criminal!

The most simple question in the world was not asked here, "Why when there are 100+ degree days AC's don't create more demand than some electric heaters." Many in Texas do not use electric heaters, they use propane. There is something seriously wrong with this.

Sounds like a disaster movie when everyone is talking at once
