Biggest question about hyaluronic fillers is imo WHERE to inject it and maybe it depends mostly on a patient. Different people have different ways of aging, different face shapes, different skin... I think good doctor has to recognize exactly where on face, how much and which filler has to inject after examining the patient. Problem is, many doctors inject everyone in same usual places like cheeks. But knowing when and what is the art, it's more than science.

For me the juvederm in July 2019 has diminished some. Due to pandemic didn't go back. For now I'm satisfied how it looks & I'm in my 70s. Maybe this summer I'll have a touch up.

I attended a hot topic event a few years back at the ASPS. They showed residual filler in the dermis layers years after injection. Showed slides from biopsies.

I had Radiesse, i think, many yrs ago on my nasolabia folds. My doc said it had like tiny crystals in it that would create a sort of scar tissue and work as a permanent filler. I think it did to an extent!! I had it done in my early 40si am now 56!

Why oh why aren't you over here in New Zealand! I go to some of the best clinics, and have asked about filler migration - they dismiss it. I also can't find anyone who will do smooth threads under the eyes to rebuild collagen, instead I'm told botox or fillers will address my issues - 2 things I'm not keen on for under the eyes. Please Dr Rajani, come to New Zealand, we need you!

In my opinion, if you don't drink enough water, your filler will diminish faster. Stay hydrated. Dr., do you think it's safer to use a candela (sp?) for under eye filler?

There’s my favorite doctor! Well it’s officially 3 months of Retin A and I look SO MUCH YOUNGER!
If you study faces, and I highly recommend that you do before doing any procedure, you’ll notice young people, ie 20’s, have a smaller skin area, and as people age, skin area increases, so with older people, instead of tight, contracted skin holding fat in place to show the detail of the face, skin expands, fat doesn’t enlarge per se, but since the skin isn’t tight it pushes out, and you see a loss of definition.
I was starting to get that, more round face, but with .1% Retin A daily on recently dried face, my face looks smaller, can see my cheekbones, my jaw line is insane. Remember Retin A is the ONLY PRODUCT scientifically proven to act on DNA, our skin has a Retinoid system, so when you apply Retin A it signals the receptors to remodel Collagen, Elastin, and speed up skin cell turnover. The best combination is Retin A/4% Hydroquinone, I have clear, tight skin with a Collagen glow again and can’t be more thrilled.

I got Juvederm fillers in my cheeks in 2015 when I was 52 y.o. The result was pretty good, but about one year ago I noticed that when I smile my cheeks started look a little weird with some 'apple' shape there. One guy even asked me if I had a plastic surgery like Rene Zelveger. I tried not to smile widely, but in static my face shape looked wounderful. Few months ago in my 58 y.o. I decided to put fillers in the corners of my mouth because it was sagging. The injector put 1 syringe of Juvederm which made a duck mouth. I asked to dissolve. During that session, I asked doctor to inject the 'apples' on my cheeks. The doctor was pessimistic about result, he said that no way the fillers would stay over 6 years. But I insisted. To my surprise, after few hours I could not recognize myself. My cheeks dropped, unfortunately uneven. So I put more fillers but don't like result because of wrong angle. It's not my face anymore....

Will my cheeks eventually go back to baseline after having 1ml Radiesse (1:1 dilution with saline) placed on each side.

It distorted my face and after all the revelations about fillers Im not sure it will disappear after the 1-2 years....or ever...quite frankly.

What was your experience of how fast diluted Radiesse goes away?

Dr. I had a horrible injury to my lips and have lip scars and very sunken eyes! That being said fillers changed my confidence and life, (I wasn’t trying to be perfect, just enhance due to trauma) but I’m learning so much and I’m scared. I hope there are other options. I have noticed that my tear through and cheek filler (HA filler / from separate visits years apart) that it migrated to my jawline. And I have fatter chipmunk jowls now. They didn’t believe me saying it can’t be… but why do I suddenly have fat sacks at jawline.
I’m very scared that I’ve put myself in danger. And also scared to dissolve. I started in 2021. So hoping what I got was slightly better quality than certain botched stories. I don’t want saggy eyes one day.
I don’t want this saggy jaw. But also don’t want my lips to go back to the scars they had before filler helped hide them. I’m not going to fill face anymore. But what can be done about all the filler in my face ;( and what alternatives are there for lips ;.(

If people keep having it done and with a lot of filler the skin will stretch, so over time the skin can lose elastin, plus they won't be using heat-related procedures in order not to shorten the life of fillers. What can happen over time without using fillers the skin is growing, so will become loose. Filling the area will add weight, thus pulling it down from gravity. The Plasma Pen would be a non-surgical way of reversing stretched skin from fillers, rather than keep topping them up and gradually worsening the problem.

Is it true that skin will becoming lazy to produce natural hyaluronic acid natural if we inject it?
