The "Your body, my choice" phrase is one of the most despicable, disgusting things I've ever heard in my life, but at least it shows what these freaks truly prioritize. It was never about saving babies, it was about stripping control from women. It always was.

Someone on Facebook told me that if I’m worried about the election results, then I should “make a list of all the things I’m worried about and see if they come to pass in two years time, ” as a way of saying that all of our worries are in our heads. The problem is that if all the things I’m worried about don’t come to pass and are imaginary, then Trump is basically left with no policies. Am I just supposed to have faith that he isn’t going to act on any of them?

My mother admitted to me that she never heard any of the things Trump actually said nor any of the things Harris said. Her reasoning is that the news never covered it and since they didn't it must've not been true or serious. She voted for him, even after I showed her clips of him saying things that would hurt not just her, but me. When I was warned by a clerk here in Florida that EBT will not be usable in the store in preparations for his policies and to check back until December... I cried and panicked. I rely on that to even be able to get me by due to my disabilities. When I called her and told her, all she said was "Well you can blame Biden for that."

She was so ... I don't even know what to say... but she had cotton in her ears and blinders in her eyes and heart to notice I said it was in preparation for TRUMP'S policies. I tried. I tried so hard to convince her to at least LISTEN to what he was saying or had already said. I couldn't get through to her and that just destroys me.

One thing i want to say that is anecdotal for me, as someone with a trans teen. My uncle 'jim' is a curmudgeon 70 y/o retired marine, served in desert storm. He carried some old school bush and clinton values and he lives in rural western PA in a small town and i always assumed that he was a Trump supporter and was afraid to broach politics with him.

When Trump won and i called my dad to to mourn, he told me that Uncle Jims house was vandalized on election night because he had Kamala signs on his yard.

I spoke with him and he said he was pissed and they were cowards that couldnt say it to his face and told me he'd rather pay $20 for eggs then support someone whod take his neices rights away. Not every archetype can be painted with a single brush.

Edit - To clarify for all the trolls and people who just can't believe that people aren't RPG character templates, the conversation was like a 20 min one and I paraphrased it but my child was one of many reasons. Also, I look like a trump supporter. I'm a white tatted cis-hetero with 2 tours in Iraq. I get people coming to me who voted for Trump and are looking for emotional support for being excommunicated, I also at first was shunned by my law school division cohort until my views slowly became known. People are people, not stereotypes.

I find it sickening that some people need to hear "what if it was your mother/daughter/sister getting told this?" to feel some basic empathy towards another human being who is receiving a rape threat

i don't want to hate my dad. he doesn't like it when my mom or i criticize trump because he takes it as a personal attack on himself. it feels like this last year and a half has showed me the true colors of the people around me. those colors being shades of red. red like anger, violence, and bloodshed.

im a trans teen in america and I'm terrified. my mother voted for trump because "a woman would start a war every time she was on her period." and because she believes trans people are preying on children, despite me showing her proof that they're not.
Im tired of screaming at these people that I'm a person too, I have a life and I have people that I love. I'm a son, a brother, a boyfriend, an uncle, a student. I'm so exhausted of having to beg people to see me as an individual, not just some soon-to-be-statistic.
