I believe Batman was bluffing when he told Darkseid he would end Apocalypse by setting off those hellspores. Because Batman doesn't kill, and Apocalypse is filled with innocent Lowlies. Why would Batman doom an entire planet, if he won't take out Joker to save lives. I believe Batman was bluffing and Darkseid fell for it. Batman was just willing to sell the bluff, even if he would die
