One of the most beautiful songs ever and such a wonderful interpretation... I really loved this unique Choir... What a tragic accident ! May they rest in peace and, for sure, they will be terriby missed and dearly remembered...

I was in Moscow in 1963 when this song came out. We all loved it and it must have been one of the only Russian songs to enter the hit parade of the time. Gordon

I was born in Manchuria in 1953, lived in China until 1962, I now live in Australia, I can still remember the first time I heard this song played on the button accordion in Australia by one of my cousins, just love it!

It was 1962, I was studying at a Vancouver City College. During lab hours we could listen to the radio. All the students would run to the pay phone and call Radio Station CKLG to play Moscow Nights, which was #1 on the Hit Parade List. I've this song on several CD and I've been listening to this song at least once every day for over 50 years. Thank you for the Latin subtitles. I am of Slovenian origin and reading the words it all fits together. The words are so romantic and tender that they reach deep into my heart. Thank you Mother Russia. With Love from Canada.

I attempted a translation, early in March:

MOSCOW NIGHTS

Naught to hear right now, in our quiet close,
Silent Spring; we rest till distant light…
How dear you are to me! If only you could know,
‘Neath this lovely Moscow, starlit night.

River flowing, deeply, but all unmoved,
All is silvered by the glowing moon!
You felt how much I long; I felt the song you proved,
And the dawn will come far too soon!

Why d’ye drop your gaze, droop you head down low?
Think that you’d contrive to disguise?
You’re deeply into me, and plain, and on full show,
Our love’s something, and no surprise.

Now Dawn brightens, and the soaring light,
Makes you rouse; be good to me again.
Please, may you e’er delight. Ne’er forget Moscow Nights,
In this lovely, deep refrain…

(You do know Solovyov-Sedoi and Matusovsky wrote this 1955, about nights in Saint Petersburg - Leningrad, back then??)

Indimenticabile, incantevole canzone: c'è in essa tutta la malinconia delle terre del Nord, tutto l'abbandono ai più dolci sentimenti, tutta la cantabilità dell'anima russa...

Jestem polakiem, a ta piekna piosenka (jedna z wielu: Moscow Nights, Kukushka, Svatschennaya Voyna... ) naprawde robi wrazenie.... Serdeczne pozdrowienia dla bratniego narodu. I am of polish ancestry and have to say that this song, this beatifull, one of many (i.e above) beautifull and powerfull, makes a strong impression. It is very moving.... Greetings to our brothers and sisters of Russian Federation.

Wonderful. Haven't heard this in so many years, it just started running through my mind in the middle of the night, I guess because of the Ukraine issue of today bringing up past loves. Thank You.
