Her: I hope the Canadians are proud of me!
The Canadians: did she just say Cue Bek?

The thing I love most about this video is your perseverance and willingness to try again. This Canadian is proud of you! 🇨🇦👍

As a Canadian, I have genuinely NEVER heard anyone say Quebec like that 😂😂 it’s always been “kwe-bek” or “keh/kuh-bek”

As a Canadian, at my school we used to set up tables with ice and put hot maple syrup on it, ( during the winter time ofc ) I loved it so much but they stopped it . I haven’t try’s it in a long time . But I loved it while I had it .

As a Canadian who is allergic to Maple Syrup (severe tree allergy) I am so jealous. I would love to try this but the pain afterwards is not worth it.

“Visiting cue beck” damn, most interesting way I’ve *ever* heard it pronounced

As a Canadian most of the kids growing up would just bring maple syrup outside and just pour it in the snow. Eating it with the snow was the best part

As a Canadian, please don’t ever call Quebec Kee-Back💀

As a Canadian the first video made me had the most dramatic flabbergasting horrifying breakdown, I was so sad that I was crying on my bed for 30 years, when I got out of my crusty musty dusty rusty dirty room I decided to check some YouTube shorts, then I saw you do frozen maple taffy correctly, thank you

im canadian, but the only time i’ve ever had maple syrup taffy was when i was 6, and these wonderful people came to my school and gave us maple taffy, i remember i’d eat it with my friends and we’d start chasing eachother around the basketball court becuase of how hyper the sugar got us

As a Canadian, I am pleased by this. HOWEVER, I do recommend using bigger chunks of ice, as one of the best parts of that is getting a chunk of ice in the syrup.

This is the best part about the winter for us Canadians. We call it “Tir D’arable” 💜💜

So glad you retried this!! Tire d’érable is so good. You should try making sugar pie/tarte au sucre next! It’s another fabulous desert from Québec (pronounce kay-beck btw).

Edit: I’m fluent in French y’all. I’ve lived in Québec for a number of years. I teach French to anglophones. I know how to pronounce the name. É is pronounced like a long a sound in English. Yes it sits slightly differently in the mouth, and may be affected by one’s regional accent (i.e., Northern vs Southern québécois), but this is generally the best way to explain it to anglophones.
