Netflix is Trying to Destroy Itself

The way Netflix cancelled Inside Job after it was renewed is actually terrible. And I needed to talk about it because this just can't keep happening in the animation industry. Show creators deserve more respect than this

NOTE: Lots of people in these comments are trying to say "Actually there is a second season". No there's not, there were 2 parts released. What you're referring to is PART 2 of Season 1, not Season 2. Articles online and all official sources confirm this that these parts are both season 1. There is no second season. Please don't spread misinformation

Original comment:
I can't believe they've done this. Brett Hand has slammed his last jam :(
Also I got more uploads on the way soon but if you have any suggestions for stuff you want me to cover, let me know! :)

Honestly I feel like many streaming services have adopted the mindset Nickelodeon has with SpongeBob.
“Oh? This show isn’t as popular as Stranger Things or Wednesday? Lol, let’s just cancel it then.”
Like seriously, streaming services don’t seem to realize not every single one of their shows has to be making the amount of bucks their most popular shows are. :/

At this point, Netflix cancelling a show is how you know it was GOOD.

Funny how 'adult animation' has a reputation for being pretty bad and getting more seasons than is justifiable, but Inside Job's case is the total inverse :(

This show was a breath of fresh air, it wasn’t a soulless reboot based off an old franchise but something new and original with its own characters and story.

Netflix just can’t seem to take the hint and continues to destroy many shows and making dumb ones. When will Netflix learn? Probably never but maybe at some point, they’ll stop screwing things over

Netflix treats their shows like child actors sometimes as soon as they get old enough they get thrown out 🤦

This doesn’t just showcase a problem with Netflix, but a problem with the treatment of animation in general. A similar thing happened before the Writers Guild of America strike. And I think a strike is the only way things are going to get better.

I agree we should hold companies accountable. Right now the Dungeons and Dragons community is raging against Wizards of the coast for betraying the trust of people with thier new Open gaming license. It is unacceptable and is awesome to see the community rise up and attack the corporate greed.

I didn’t hate big mouth season one but the fact that it’s on it’s SEVENTH season and so many other shows get cancelled is criminal. I don’t know what the hell is wrong with Netflix

Netflix canceling Inside Job, Dead End: Paranormal Park and Tuca & Bertie (the 1st time), HBOMax canceling Batgirl 2021, Young Justice, Mao Mao, Driftwood, Victor & Valentino and Tuca & Bertie (the 2nd time), Disney canceling The Owl House. Streaming services have taken Nickelodeon's SpongeBob Standard and made it so that all of them can cancel a thousand projects in 2 seconds.

Honestly what makes this truly terrible is that they didn't just cancel the show outright. No, they had to give us hope so that they could then rip it away from us and plunge us into a pit of despair. It would've still sucked if they had just went ahead and cancelled it, but green lighting a second season and then immediately reversing that decision is so scummy for the amazingly talented team behind the show and the viewers. This show and its creators deserved so much better.

A reminder that is not just a animation problem, a lot of their original shows got the axe when Netflix starts to see then as a liability, whatever If the show is good or not.

To be fair everyone is canceling the good stuff while the bad keeps getting made :(

The fact that this is the 2nd time I can remember Netflix canceling a well liked show with one season that ended on a cliffhanger is just

They also cancelled dead end paranormal park and I’m hella sad by both of these shows getting cancelled since both of them were very dear to my heart

I think why this always happens is because when it isn't immediately popular, it gets cancelled. The Netflix staff really can't wait.

Can’t spell Netflix without the L.

Netflix started to become crap when they kept making bad originals and even allowed Cuties on their platform.

They did it to themselves. Hopefully they fall if they don’t stop messing up!

Honestly, they ran themselves into the ground the moment they released Cuties.

I am hoping beyond hope that either Netflix changes their minds once they see the social media backlash, or that the creators can find a new home for Inside Job. I can’t see this show die after a cliffhanger ending like I Am Not Okay With This did.
