What is funny is that, he said hello in Russian and Uzbek language but forgot to say in English. 😂

Enjoyed this particular topic - close and personal with the local cuisine.

That about sums up my experience with plov. You visited the top place in the country and ordered the freshest possible plate, and then described it as having a "neutral taste" and on par with every other plov you tasted. It is undoubtedly worth trying while in Uzbekistan, but about a million miles from the nuance and flavors of paella (Spain) or tahchin (Iran) or even Chinese or Japanese fried rice.

Once heard a Uzbek said: we're one of two double landlocked countries in the world ; - )

Where is the "kurt"? Those rock-hard, salty, cheese balls seemed to replace peanuts as the salty beer snack in every Uzbek tavern I visited. They are definitely what I think of when I think about my time hanging out in Tashkent.
