Here’s a really complicated recipe for Greek bean soup with Smokey bacon aka fasolada. Take all the ingredients, chop them up. Place them in a large stock pot, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer until the beans are soft and done. Phone a friend for help....

I've made this so much on lockdown. I even layered some leftovers of it into an aubergine bake. I have to have lots of the celery leaves in there too.

Hi Ken...you almost made me cry I the raw onion a sprinkle of red chilli flakes and feta, olives with fresh crusty bread...old school fasolada....I forgot my dad ( may he rest in oeace) ate it that way. Also, my son will eat one bowl begrudgingly but NOT his choice, the bacon is a game changer....anything with bacon and he doesn't see anything else in his plate. This is on the menu tomorrow but no bacon tjus week but right after Easter first thing I will make fir Bkess and stay safe and strong 🤗👍👍🍷

Dear Ken! Does τρομερή mean "terrible"? Love your presentation! When I was a kid I started (back in USSR) with the Greek mythology, and now I understand (in the US for 30+ years) that all educated people are --- in a sense --- Greeks! Please be safe and continue --- you are practically a member of my family!

I’ve made your crock pot version of fasolada many times. Do you prefer one version over the other? Also, how do you prep your carrots and celery to freeze them? Do you blanch them?

This is a different subject. I was making your orange galaktoboureko
today. Made the custard then realized my filo pastry was beyond the use by date. I’ve put the custard in the fridge covered with cling film. Do you think it’ll be okay to continue with the recipe tomorrow when I buy some fresh filo??
