Why do people always use videos that were clearly filmed with modern cameras and are downscaled before upscaling them again? The challenge is to use real SD footage, from VHS or mini-dv tapes or even DVD:s. By the way this is not a tutorial, it's a commercial. Youtube should really start controlling this. For us students that really want to learn and are searching for tutorials, this is a waste of time. And by the way, comparing Premiere Pro (that is an editing software) with an AI video Enhancer is just dumb.- it's like comparing a Kitchen knife with scissors and asking which one is better for cutting your hair?

Just FYI, Premiere Pro isn't an AI upscaling software. All you done is taken a video editing software, blown a 360p video to 4K, made a couple of adjustments (not intended for upscaling) and compared it to a dedicated AI upscaling program. OF COURSE it's going to look better in the comparison, you aren't comparing apples to apples. Compare it to Topaz or one of the other "AI Enhancing Upscaling" software apps and then show us how good it is.

I use Video Enhance AI and did one hundert upscales. In my experience often it makes no sence upscale 360p/480p to 4k, because there is no additional benefit compared upscale to 1080p (or 2k) execpt getting a huge video file.

The reason is the source material has not enough informations and the higher the Output resolution more pixels/areas wants to be filled and the AI can't to a better job with this tons of pixels and can't simply invented something brand new according to free imagination.

Scale 360p up to 1080p, and then same up to 4k and compare both on a 4k Display at fullscreen. Say me if you can see a difference, I can't.

The AI is definitely sharper, but all color is washed out. Way too muted. The color is much better in the Premiere Pro. I did learn how to upscale my VHS footage, but I would suggest maybe 1080P instead of 4k for old home movies. I think 4k makes the pixels spread out too much showing dot crawl and such. I ran the original tape to my smart tv and it was so much better than what I had on my desk top, but I have to consider that my LG OLED TV will automatically attempt to enhance whatever you show on it. I will take my own advise on my next attempt to convert my current video project.

I purchased this product to use for a month. It doesn't work as they advertise. And they don't refund your money, even if you contact them before 48 hours of purchasing the product.

I tried to download the trial version and it don't make me export even the 45 preview frames in mp4. And quite suspiciously in preview mode it doesn't allow me to see the upscaled 45 frame footage alone, in full screen mode. How can I judge the actual quality of a 2k or 4k upscale seeing it in a shrunk small window? Better stick to Premiere.
