It happened with The Witcher, and now with Halo, when will people learn to hire people that care about the product?

At least we can all be glad that they never got around to ruining Sergeant Johnson, because in the end he always knew what the ladies like.

Hollywood has this bizarre thing going on where they are trying to use certain IP’s to tell a story and make money, however it appears they seem to be exclusively hiring people who don’t actually have an interest in the setting or a desire to bring the things people actually like about those settings to life.
Fallout was a breath of unnaturally fresh air, and it wasn’t actually spectacular or anything, the bar is just so low that you barely have to do things right to for people to live it. (I’m not really talking bad on fallout, just making a point)

This was not a Halo TV show, it was a cosplay using elememts of the Halo IP.

What a sad state of a franchise. Cancelling a halo tv show being some of the best recent news we’ve had is sad.

This is what happens when you think you are above what came before you.

After 20 years, people still meme on and celebrate “Giving the Covenant back their bomb.” In 20 years, no one will remember the Halo show.

The Halo show is now in the same category as the Eragon movie: We dont talk about, shut up, it doesnt exist.

WHAT PISSED ME OFF ... is that it IS A SERIES THAT WAS SO EASY TO DO. the material is there, the lore is there, the weapons technical side, the characters, the armor EVERYTHING is there, they didnt need to create anything, they just needed to be TOLD. even if it had a low budget there could be done in so many ways and that could be seen by many fan made project out there... but no. they decided to SPIT in the face of all of that even to the fans so they could follow their own creative choice and well... they murdered it

Halo, it’s finally over

They didn't need to create "a new timeline" for this show. The whole human race was at war they could have stuck to the cannon and made a show centered around new characters if they wanted something original.

Paramount saw how good the Fallout show was received and had an "oh fuck" moment.

This show broke my heart. It wasn’t made for fans, it was made chasing the “general audience”. A recipe for disaster. May be 10 years before we see another attempt.

God such a sad time for people who grew up with Halo and Star Wars

The show was an absolute dumpster fire.

I think there is still potential for a halo Show/Movie, it just needs to actually be extremely respectful to the source material, although I doubt that would ever happen.

This is what happens when you do an adaptation and throw 90% of the source material out the window. Writers have to stop “trying to leave their mark” on IPs that they didn’t create.

Also what really pisses me off is that some high up excuctive that was in a coma from 2001-2007 decided changes needed to be made to "fit a wider audience." I mean really how could they look at the halo 3 release, the amount of power and impact that had not just on the industry but the world, look at how many people were excited and going out early to celebrate and get the game, a game that was known in a big part for its story driven gameplay and think this isnt god enough? As cool as it was people werent throwing release parties for forge mode, people were excited to finish the fight. But someone with power somewhere within the production of that show decided the original ip wasn't captivating enough for a large audiance...

It’s a shame the halo show didn’t turn out as good as the fallout show.

This isn't a win, it's still a loss. Everything revolving around this show was an L for all Halo fans. This disaster shouldn't have happened to begin with. The damage done has almost guaranteed we're not getting another attempt at this, the Halo TV series as a medium is likely dead and gone for good. Really bleak imho. We'd be lucky to get any of the classic shorts or mini/side stories like we did in Legends. There likely isn't going to be another Halo: Evolutions Mona Lisa, there isn't going to be another Halo: Forward Onto Dawn. That really hurts. I suppose now is as good a time as any to get into the books/audiobooks of the original Bungie era. I myself haven't read *any* of the books, due to just not enjoying the medium (ADHD ah brain hatin books hur dur moment), but it feels like I don't have any other choice other than fan projects.
