When I first moved to Dallas I noticed immediately that you had to be DRESSED when you went out, even for dinner, but I actually loved it. When I moved back home I was always overdressed for a little bit lol.

Dallas native checking in.
Very good, and very fair video. Just as an terms of you being shocked that Dallas has wealthy has way more money than that was told to me by a Philly transplant that moved here 10 years ago.
Its almost impossible to be unemployed here in Dallas.

You are right. Dallas is located in the Great Plains....not that much natural beauty. People come here to make money and get rich.

I lived in Dallas area for 3 years. It was the most wonderful experience of my life and I will never forget any of my friends from there. Lots of good paying jobs and things to do. Ive never had any issues with crime but in Texas you can always hear gunshots in the distance. The wild west still creeps through the night.

If you are black and moving to Dallas and want to live around people who look like you check out southern Dallas. There are three majority black suburbs there. Lancaster, Desoto and Cedar Hill TX. Multi million dollar communities and nice regular suburban communities.

As a city girl from Chicago I really appreciate this video! I lived in Phoenix and I totally understand what u mean by downtown being a ghost town. I would say the same about Atlanta. Only really city people get it!

Thank you for this. I'm a 25yr old black woman. I was looking in uptown rather than deep ellum. I'm not into bars, the club scene, and I heard it was great for young professionals that like quiet spaces, greenery like parks, and walkability.

I feel you on the dating and wanting to asking as soon as I get outside my home. Having my time wasted is my #1 pet peeve

Thanks for the breakdown. I’m weighing my options between Dallas and Houston.

You have a friendly and enjoyable style and should do more vids like these. Your analysis of the city is really helpful for outsiders, so thanks!

Nice video! DFW is so big in one year, you may think you have seen a lot, but probably not. There is so much to that big place metroplex. Many cities to discover, Plano, Frisco, Grapevine, Southlake, Westlake, Hyland Park, University Park, Heath, Preston Hollow, McKinney, El dorado, Fairview, Keller, Rockwall, Rowlett, Prosper, Addison, Richardson, Carrollton, Fort Worth, Denton, Lewisville, Arlington etc. Once you get to know the place, you might end up liking it more

I move to Dallas from California two and half years ago and I love it!! I would say you have to get out alittle more and keep exploring there's so much to do out here in dallas and TX I'll say couple things I consider before moving out here 1> Austin has a lot homeless people and not as many black people as Houston or Dallas 2> The only thing about Houston that worries me is when hurricanes season rolls around and can hit the city and flood it🤔 3> Dallas is growing very fast and there's a lot cool nee spots popping up town town every day!! But the overall vibe is very cool and nice out here!! Looking to buy home by end next year when hopefully interest rates go down and housing market cools down alittle.

2023 and I’m moving to Dallas. I work in tech and it’s a pull. I been in Dallas and Garland and when I was there for just a few days I felt like I would thrive and prosper there and raise my family. So I’m going to see what’s up.

I subscribed off of this one video because of how honest I seen you were. I watched this just to get some info about Dallas. It usually takes a couple to a few videos before I subscribe. Your a great YouTuber, very truthful, organized, and straight to the point!!!

Texas was a part of Mexico and that wasn’t too long ago in terms of history, so it makes sense that they’re culture would have a strong presence there.

Dallas and Texas is more laid back and not hustle and bustle. Plano and Frisco are cities where you have shopping and bars close to each other but not walking distance. People here like to get out and move around and don’t care that things aren’t very close to each other……also most people don’t want night life where they live. If you want nature then parks and lakes are your only option. I’m surprised you were surprised of super wealth neighborhoods considering the GDP of the Dallas area and Texas which are very high. Try to meet people in a different area because it does make a difference. You forgot one big advantage about living in Dallas and Texas…..no state tax.
