This might ruffle some feathers, but there was no reason not to drop the Season 4 trailer for Halo Infinite at the Xbox showcase. This was the perfect time to show the world all the new stuff in Halo Infinite and get some much-needed attention, and we got nothing, not even a mention of Halo. This is insane to me when Season 4 is only 9 days away! It honestly feels like Microsoft doesn't care anymore, or if they do, its hard to tell.

Microsoft really dropped the ball on this one. I'm sure season 4 is gonna be great, but Microsoft absolutely failed 343 and the community.

Literally can not lie, absolutely loved the showcase, loved all the reveals and everything. Once starfield direct started, i realized there was no halo at all. At that point I felt like there was literally no point in the showcase anymore. Just have been so disappointed since it ended.

Imagine if they had shown a small teaser of the leaked "Tatanka" mode and show for example a mini cinematic and following "coming 2024" or something, along side a trailer of season 4 for Halo Infinite with maybe a date of the full reveal for season 4 a few days later. It would have been neat to have.

They didn't even name 343i when they were listing all of their, "first party developers." That's pretty concerning for the studio. It might even be the writing on the wall for the developers seeing as that Microsoft might not even consider first party anymore. 343's days as a studio might actually be numbered.

I used to be a pretty big halo fan, but now after everything that happened with infinite, now i realize: i grew apathetic to it, didn't even noticed it wasn't on the showcase.

People complain about Overwatch 2, Sea of Thieves, Fallout 76 and ESO getting trailers, but honestly all of those game updates seem to be considerably bigger than Halo Infinite season 4.

For me in Australia, I stayed up until 4 in the morning to watch almost the entire thing of the Xbox Showcase to see if there was anything for Fable, Elder Scrolls or Halo. I was so dead after seeing like the third Personna game bro, then Phil Spencer did the ultimate ball-buster troll of saying, "here is what you are all waiting for". Then shows off more Star Field. I just left the stream.

We also didn't see a single mention of the HUGE Minecraft 1.20 Update that just released a few days ago. Does this mean that Microsoft isn't looking after Minecraft?

I actually wasn't expecting to hear about Halo Infinite. We haven't heard about the previous seasons from Microsoft, so why should S4 have been any different?

Maybe 343 didn't submit a trailer in time for Season 4. You cannot blame Microsoft without knowing what's going on. I doubt that 343 had a trailer ready months ago (likely due date for the trailers) for season 4.

I think saying "Xbox's top priority should be Halo" is kinda irrational they have a lot of games and can't focus on 1 exclusively or the rest will come tumbling down but they should be focusing on getting people back in 343 to work on Halo. Also don't put your trust leaks or this exact thing will happen

Pretty sad to see.. they really could’ve shown off forge and what is to come. Really shows Microsoft has started to give up on Halo. I am excited for some of the games to come. My Spartan may go dormant for some time. I will never give up on Halo but it feels like the good days are just over 😢

Might be a controversial take, but from an outside perspective, the gaming community dislikes the Halo franchise. Even though Infinite has vastly improved in the past 6 months, the wider community still views it as a failed, buggy mess. Without a large scale update, it probably won't take the spotlight for a long time. The Xbox showcase was extremely successful, having a ton of and quality games that had a lot to offer. Sadly, the inclusion of Infinite in the event would probably have degraded the show (343 simply cannot compete with the other titles released). Games like Sea of Thieves and ESO got updates because they were extremely large (usually big annual updates) in size, and due to their immense player base. Obviously, we would all enjoy a reveal of season 4, but with so little content compared to other titles, Infinite and the showcase would likely be hurt by the reveal. Hopefully some time in the future when the battle royale is ready, Infinite will be shown in a large scale showcase like this one, but until then, Halo will remain out of the spotlight.
