Note To Self: HALESTORM's LZZY HALE on bullying

Lzzy Hale of Halestorm didn't have an easy time while growing up, particularly in middle school. She opens up about dealing with bullies and believing in herself in this APTV video message to her 13-year-old self.

"The great thing is that in a couple of years, you won't be thinking of them," she says about the bullies. "They're definitely not as cool as you."

She talks about forming a band as a 13-year-old, and going through many different members before deciding on a band that worked. "Your little brother is crazy; don't kill him, because he's legendary," says Hale.

at the final was Arejay on the back and he seemed so young and the long hair and everything omg I know it can be crazy and everything but for me he was like a tiny little bean and the cutest boy I've ever seen. Halestorm for me is one of the best bands I've ever know in my short life.. I came to the fandom a little (too much) late but I feel like I've been a fan since they started. Lzzy is just awesome in every shape.. her voice, her hair, her eyes, and is the only women who wears heels on stage and rock it like she's wearing just a pair of converse and of course she's hot as fuck and the guys are just as cool and crazy and I love them so much.. I wish I could meet them and go to at least one concert. They make such heavy music that you just can't resist headbanging while you are listening to it. Awesome band. That's all.

Its like I use to say, that it´s like Halestorms lyrics are about us, me and my family and their lyrics often kind of fits on, just like that. I had to fit into a fathers shoes when they were abandoned, so I am doing my best, even if its hard so many times, especially now when our 12-year old girl are beeing bullied at school and are beeing scared about almost anything. It scares her to grow up, she says, but I know Lzzy´s words will help her carry on. The song "Dear daughter" really brought us closer to eachother and it made us cry, me, my gf and our lil girl. It means much to us so thank you Lzzy and the rest of the gang. We hope to see you soon again - u rocked in Gothenburg! :)

this is amazing. i laugh at the fact that there was a time when Lzzy had to be quiet. repression does something to hope. it builds it. sure as shit built all of the not quiet in the world into her voice.
