King ants exist??? My understanding is that the only male ants are droves that exist to mate with queens on their nuptial flights and then die.

A proper king exists in other eusocial insects, like termites where the male survives initial mating and stays with the queen and continues to mate with her during their lives.

In ant, bees, wasps, and hornets, the males or drones are typically the least dangerous member of the entire colony.
The exception here is with the vulture bee, in which case the drones are crazy territorial and will bite the hell out of you.

Well, me personally referred the male ants are not kings but rather a royal prince's (young kings). Their only purpose in life is to eat, sleep, mate with their queen, and eventually died.

In fact, male ants are often called 'flying sperm'. Because these, genetically they don't have sons but do have grandsons, and it goes on and on. Male ants of the Driver Ants species, also called sausage ants, are due to their size being about the same as their Queen.

I still remember one time when i was on Saarema (Estonia’s biggest island) i saw a queen ant who was ready for mating. (Keep in mind that it was mating season). I was in the car, until it flew into my hand. When i arrived at the place i was staying, i let it go. When i let it go, i felt bad because it was so cute.

There’s no such thing as King ants, like what @darwinskeeper421 said, their real names are either “male ants” who are useless (they don’t get food for the colony or something, they just wait for their nuptial flight) but useful (useful for mating with future queen ants) but they have another name known as “drone”

Can i ask you a question so how does a queen ant born and how does she lay eggs without a male and my other question how does the male ant (the one mate with the queen) born and does the queen and the male mate just to get a queen or just ants ?
