How to Use Leveraged ETFs

A set of defined reactions is the best way to use the high volatility of leveraged ETFs for greater profit.

Contrary to media warnings, leveraged ETFs beat the market over many time periods even with a simple buy-and-hold approach.

A look at my performance tables proves it.

We can improve upon their performance by running 2x and 3x leveraged ETFs through defined reactions that extract profit from their higher highs and add capital to their lower lows.

Fantastic yet simplistic approach. Sell when they rise, buy in when they are low, simple but powerful.

Coming from someone that sounds like Jon Lovitz, I'm in surprising agreement with you despite my eagerness to hear a punchline.

I love the systematic approach. The beauty is in the simplicity. React to what has occurred instead of guess what will occur. Love it!

I love this, there’s so few people that can actually explain past the ‘daily returns are not annual returns’, crazy

So I invested in TQQQ - the 3X of the Nasdaq in 2010 at $2 & it hit $88 per this year in 2019. I invested $100, 000 in 2010 & it is worth $4.4 million after holding it for a decade - so you were saying skippy?

I completely agree with your views! I also don't get it why everyone is so afraid of leveraged ETF's, or talking all the time about decay, and that it can wipe out your investment.. If you place a trailing stop loss, you never lose more than your exit price.. And who cares decay or that it's not perfectly giving a 3X return, even if it would only be a penny better than the underlying index, it's a big WINNER for me! :)

Hi. THANK YOU!!!

It seems you’re the only financial guru who sees leveraged ETFs the way I see them! Either we’re as mad as each other, or geniuses.

I have 200 ‘shares’ in SOXL, a 3x leveraged semiconductor ETF. I protect my gains with a trailing stop. If the ETF drops, I’m cashed out. I wait a day or two for the ETF to find its bottom mark. Then I buy right back in. Where’s the massive risk everyone tells me about?

As a small investor, I want to grow my fund as much as I can. And a leveraged ETF allows me to do that. In spades. I can’t see why investing in an ETF is any different to holding a portfolio of stocks. ETFs offer diversification in one product. And the volatility allows you to buy at a bargain price whenever there’s a downward swing.

You know what I think? I think that the Big Boys in Wall St just wanna keep the riff-raff out, and only trade this stuff between themselves.

P.S. I’m not a nut

You remind me of Jon Lovitt, the comedian/actor. If you use SPXL etf you can do great because it follows the S&P 500, you just need to have patience and don't get too emotional, don't worry, the S&P 500 ALWAYS comes back, just look at the Charts. So if you buy and hold, you will be great and do better than the S&P, but I would rather trade in and out of the etf and make a modest profit, not getting greedy, and then take my profit and save it for another day when I think might be a good buying opportunity. It is my idea to take advantage of down days or even weeks, and buy along the way, then start selling as the market goes up. I LOVE a down market. Selfishly, I hope for a recession, the market tanks and I buy. You got to have money on hand to do what I do.

There is so much negativity on leveraged ETFs out there. I have been buying and holding and swing trading TQQQ for the last couple years. This is the first video I’ve ever seen that covers pretty much what I do. Every time there is a big pull back, I buy more and average down. Christmas 2018 was very good to me! I am cautious right now in the market though with all of these talks of a recession and high prices. Anyway, amazing video, if only more people understood how this works. It’s pretty simple, do your homework and look at past charts. That’s what I did for hours and hours and hours…
