Both of these medicare and SSI have been held of of paychecks since I started working that's Over 45 yrs . Why is it that I have to have money for medicare taken out of my retirement income when all that money held out of my paychecks was sitting in some account drawing interest??? Also to qualify for no deduction you have to have assets of 8000 or less ? The rules are ridiculous set up to benefit the gov.??

I was approved for Social Security on 8/1 and Medicare Part B on 6/1. SS is trying to Back Bill out of my SS Check for $700.00 SS was slower to get approved. Can SS back-bill me for 2021 in 2023? SS indicated they took out for July/August for Part B in plain english. I received a 'computer generated' notice from Chicago SS office out of the blue in Late March. I was within the Enrollment period. Why in 2023 are they reaching back in 2021?

I just completed my application today. I'm hoping it will be accepted. If I decide to pay it quarterly or monthly, can you tell me if there is an auto pay option and if there's any fees SSA charges for any of the options chosen as in credit card or any other option? I look forward to a response and thank you in advance.

Thanks so much for the info. My mom doesn’t get enough social security for it to cover her whole premium. She is trying to pay the delinquent amount by credit card, but she’s unable to do online pay because she’s setup for social security to pay it. It makes it seem as if she’s only able to pay by check or money order, which she can’t afford. Is there anyone to contact to make a credit card payment?

I’m a disabled Veteran and I get 100% disability payments via the VA. Why do I need to have Medicare payments come out of my S.S. check and can I opt out of these monthly payments? Is so, how do I eliminate the Medicare payments from my Social Security checks?

Hello enjoyed your clarification, just 1 quick question that I've been trying find the answer to?? - I've been working since I was 17yrs old! I'm considering taking social security at age 62 (in16 more months) simply to (enjoy life, travel, take a class etc.et)!! IF I TAKE IT AT 62..
WILL MEDICAID OR MEDICARE BE AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED?? MAKING THE CHECK AMOUNT LOWER!! Example - if the check amount is $1150 per month, will the amount be $1000? Thx you for any simple (yes or no) answer!🌸 I will really appreciate it.
