this tutorial is rendered more difficult than it should be by inaccurate language, as well as actions performed on the fly, while you talk about something else. dont go about things as though you want to hide how you do them. also, objects and paths are not layers. dont call them layers. you say you move the diagonal of the R letter, when you are actually cloning it.
slow down, describe what you do accurately, and account for every single action. for the learner not to be able to emulate what you do step by step and complete the project simply ruins the whole experience.
