The city of Kharkiv is a constant target of Russia's aerial assault on Ukraine. Sitting close to the Russian border, it has come under repeated attacks in almost two years of war. DW Correspondent Max Zander travelled to the city and met residents who have chosen to remain there – living a life under fire.

For more on this, we talk to Maria Avdeeva. She is a Ukrainian security analyst who is originally from Kharkiv and joins us now from Sweden’s capital Stockholm.

Remember that this conflict has the lowest amount of civilian casualties out of any conflict of this magnitude.

Imagine what those people would be experiencing if in Gaza. The Russians could flatten the place if they wanted, but they have chosen not to, unlike the fascists in tel Aviv.

Why target Kharkiv so often ?
Maybe the fact that its the 2nd largest City in Ukraine has something to do with it.

Hotels full of NATO troops, right? This is not journalism; you didn't talk to any of the people staying there waiting to be liberated.

Meanwhile in Gaza.

We see now that compared to nato in Iraq and Israel in Gaza, Russia is treating Ukraine civilians very lightly.

Why dont they just evacuate the population of that city to somewhere else for safety?
