This seems like a very good design. I've actually never had a bike with a hanger at all, just derailleurs that mounted over the wheel bolt. Always thought that was just asking to fuck up your frame in a crash.

That clip was one of the greatest demonstrations on how to possibly break your derailleur hanger I've ever seen. How many takes did you do before you had both of them crash?

Your video helped me a lot and I successfully installed a new hanger. However, when the initial failure occurred, I removed the entire derailleur along with removing the cable and one of the idler pulleys and the chain. Not being a tech, I used another bike to copy the proper routing of the chain.

Is it very important to grease the dropout. Last time i replaced the hanger, i did not grease it. I just greased the bolts.
