I was scammed out of thousand of dollars...

I never thought we would be in this situation, it's pretty wild to be honest. Just wanted to share as a cautionary story everyone!

Ugh, I'm so sorry this happened to you! There's a special place in hell for these scammers. Health insurance in the US is confusing as it is and to then have these scammers out there makes it worse.

We got scammed out of about $7, 000 to a scam. If you've ever watched Beekeeper, it sounded just like that call the woman got. I watched them take money and I called them a thief. The bank started us on all new accounts. It was a nightmare.

I am so sorry that happened to you Allie. These are people that just don't give a crap about other people and their feelings because they are just too greedy and care about what they want. To do this while pregnant is just repulsive.

So sorry you went through this. Don't feel bad but use it as a lesson learned. Unfortunately scammers are good at what they do and they are constantly looking for an opening into someone's life and everyone is susceptible. If like you someone's life has many distractions and they let their guard down, it can happen. Every couple of months I watch Scammer Payback's YouTube channel to remind myself that there are bad people out there trying to take advantage of me :)

I'm so sorry you had to go through this!!! I got scammed earlier this year and I feel stupid about it now. But the lesson was learned and for you, too. I have a really good health insurance plan through the government, I'm a former USDA employee. I'm retired now, but if I had to find another health insurance, I would ask my family or good friends' what insurance they have and go research each one before making a decision. There are many scammers out there now, and it's scary! Good for you to report the health insurance scammers!!!!

Health insurance is such a headache here. I just turned 26 so I had to deal with a lot of this as well, being called by insurances, figuring out terms and conditions... I used AI to run a lot of the contracts and find the best one for me. I ended up on the state exchange through the Affordable Care Act. Even I messed up and didnt have dental for 4 months lol

The biggest lesson I learned? Dont trust the insurance people who call you over the phone, my plan with the state NEVER called me.

Omg guys, I'm so sorry! My mom was also scammed a few years ago, by a beauty cream company, that was advertised on a flyer or receipt from Walmart (of all places!)... She bought one, but they basically subscribed her to receive more and charged her crazy amounts of money, and then she couldn't get a hold of them to cancel. It was especially complicated because the company was from the US, but my mom is French-Canadian and barely speaks English. She was already struggling financially at the time, and she had to file for bankruptcy because of this whole ordeal!
