DCS WW2 Normandy Map - First Impressions - Max Settings

Released today, the new map from DCS focusses on Operation Overlord in 1944. I took a Messerschmitt 109 K4 and went on a tour of the landing beaches and some of the town tp check out the new scenery. Enjoy!

As far back as the original IL2, flying solo the sim ran ok and as time went on better and better but always enjoyable. Then as soon as ai is added it fell apart. I am running a fire breathing rig at 4.5, 1080ti and its 100 fps smooth even at 4k. But as soon as ai is added its back to being its old self. Backed it down to 1080 but its not the res or setting just coding. When I smoked a bandit, I sometimes get a 2-3 sec pause. On touch downs, firing a weapon, a enemy crash, just random events cause pauses while the program struggles to find and run the event. Also there are NO axis or allied WW2 bombers other than the B-17. Maybe by 2020 it will be fleshed out.
