Thank you Dr. Dray ! I appreciate as a social worker you discussing how the heat affects those who take certain psychotropic medications. Here in New York, I have been ready since March. Thanks to you ---I am stocked up on sunscreen, sun -glasses, UPF 50 gloves and baseball caps. Last year, I even purchased some long sleeve polo shirts from Coolibar ( Great, comfortable material) Have a great day !

I'm in Phoenix Arizona and it's already 106 here. But my skin is already looking better, because I followed your advice to use 50 spf. I was using 30 spf but it wasn't high enough. Thank you Doctor!❤

Loved the “change your underwear” mid day tip. Makes perfect sense. Now to convince my hubby I will share this video. Thank you Dr Dray for this great tip and all the other shared tips in this well presented video.

I love that you explained implications of various medications as well as alcohol when it comes to extreme heat- such an important topic!

My main issues are the even though my skin is protected with sunscreen (SPF 70+ reapplied religiously), my Melasma and Rosacea act up so much from the heat alone.

I live in PA, on hot days I’ll be out at break of dawn to do my intervals. Here, that is the coolest temps of the day. Such a helpful video!

Agreed! I wear Full Hijab including Abaya and underneath I wear cotton long sleeved loose Ts and Hareem trousers and people side eye me and make comments.
But it is much cooler my skin doesn't get hot. Even my head stays cool. And the cotton wicks away sweat.
As someone who didn't wear Hijab before I know the difference and it is massive. So much more comfortable.

thanks for this video Dr. Dray! I struggled with intertrigo my whole life until I found your channel. Now I use my hair dryer (LOL) after showers to make sure I’m totally dry and apply the Walgreens brand “moisture barrier ointment”. Works like a charm and so affordable!

Thanks for all the great tips. Mid way through the video you mentioned using an anti dandruff shampoo with zinc to deal with folliculitis. BEWARE: Head & Shoulders w/ pyrithione zinc contains Methylisothiazolinone. This chemical is often problematic to people, like myself with sensitive skin and can cause severe rashes. I used to use this product to deal with scalp folliculitis, but the shampoo made the issue worse because of this chemical. It wasn't until I did skin testing at my Derm that I realized I am extremely allergic to this chemical.

The timing of this is on spot. Been looking for solutions to these heat-related rashes for a few days now. Thank you, doctor!

That's sooo cool that you mention and take into consideration such medications! I have adhd and didn't pay attention to these possible side effects (I have plenty to deal with, it's just another overwhelming evel)

I live in El Paso, Tx and always were long sleeves in the hot summers. The EP sun is not forgiving to my olive skin tone, even when I wear sunscreen. I try to stay indoors until the sun goes down.

Just in time for the heat and humidity that has already started in my area. I'm not a fan at all. I'm a Fall and Winter girl for sure! My skin thanks you, Dr Dray. Happy Thursday!! I hope you have a lovely evening. 💞

I've been taking amitriptyline for a long time for migraines. That seems like something the doctor should mention! I never saw it in the list of side effects. 😕

Yay! ☀ We’re in a season that leaves Dr Dray putting out a video on skincare for hot weather! But I live in Minnesota. So I suspect my southern friends look at us being weenies about the heat in Minnesota the same way we giggle when people say 32 degrees above zero is cold. :)
