I look after a domain with exchange on prem. I am very much against moving to O365. I feel that I won’t be in control and O365 always seems to have some issue or other not to mention that it would cost significantly more than on prem.

With the recent hack, I was wondering what Ms Exchange was. This video did a nice job of explaining it, especially the difference with outlook 365.

I know nothing in system administration and yet I was curious to know whether the assertions i have read saying Microsoft Exchange was highly vulnerable and poorly thought generally in terms of cyber security could be true. Now I understand clearly why it may be this way.

Clearly, Microsoft Exchange is not the most pressing priority of the company but it makes sense. The recent cyber attacks question the viability of this strategy though
