Thats an amazing team leader; to be able to tell your driver that you know that the car shouldnt be able to do it and to understand that the driver shouldnt be able to do it but to say that they believe in their driver to try.

ive always wondered how to save fuel during a race, like do you just use a fuel saver mode? do you also avoid full throttle situations? if so, when? i cant imagine that would be preferable out of a corner.. but also straights would multiply your lost time as well. so only through mid speed curvy bits? perhaps let off completely entering corners?
