I had a little discussion in the comments with someone and I thought I'd share it with you guys. Why though? Because it turned out to be a really interesting conversation.
Enjoy Comment Time #11! :)

My videos I have the comments from:

** Why the "ANZEIGE" (=Ad) message? **
According to german laws everyone has to mark their videos as advertisements as soon as there's a single "subject relevant" product, tag or link in it. Even if you didn't get paid for making that video. Sounds confusing and it really doesn't help the viewer to see which is a paid review and which isn't. But it's the law so whatever...
--- The line of truth: Is this actually a paid review? No it isn't. (I update this line for every video).

I hope the "cheap vs. expensive" guy's life got a little better in the meantime. Seems like he was having a bad day. Love these videos (and the patience)! <3

Eastman is a pretty boutiquey Manufacturer from china.. they don’t have a huge factory as far as I know, but a fairly small workshop.
The prices are not so over the top as Gibson or PRS prices but the quality (especially compared to Gibson) is really good imo.

That Les Paul sounds great, nice playing!
I, for one, appreciate your videos and think you are one of the most unbiased and honest guitar youtubers (is that a word?). Keep up the good work Kris

I am watching Kris' channel for a while now, I have seen nothing but a "down to earth" guy who is humble but also really knows his stuff and tries to help.
I learned a lot here and thank you for all the content you create. Your work here already talks for itself. You don't even need to explain yourself.

Kris, My last "Tele" was a Music Store house brand (J&D)! It has most of the features, that I would have gone to the Fender Custom Shop for. I was fortunate enough to get my J&D from an American distributer! $148 to my door! Maple fingerboard, no skunk stripe, ashtray bridge (That fits), my cover, strings through body, or top mounted! Very small 12.5 in. radius, neck, alnico 5 pickups! I become 69 years old next Sunday, I'm disabled, and cannot preform any longer. Heart attack, and 5 strokes. Pro player for 55 years!

Well put together, Kris. You seem very down to earth. Great video.

Absolutely agree with your points, Kris. I have some expensive guitars, some inexpensive / partscasters, and I love them all for different reasons. Concur 100% with your points re: the differences that remain after upgrading a modestly priced guitar. I upgraded a Squier 50s Vibe Tele, everything but the neck and body. So the neck isn't bad, but it it's a long way from great, and the body is a BRICK. I have great affection for this guitar. And it sounds terrific! But it doesn't play or feel anywhere near as good as my Custom Shop '53. No contest. Keep on keepin' on!

Like I said on Instagram, someone must not know you and your channel’s content to comment something like that. People can disagree and that’s cool, but he just wanted to bash you. Keep up the awesome work, my friend! Lots of admiration for you here. 🤘🏻🤘🏻

The top on your Les Paul is absolutely stunning! I love that look... not overly stripy... just totally classic and classy looking!

As for Les Pauls, it's long neck tenon vs short neck tenon. Custom Shop LPs, the neck piece goes under the neck pickup. Modern USA standards neck joint ends before the pickup.

With people like that first guy I have learned you will never be able to convince an idiot with facts. He is just trolling and seems to have an inferiority complex. There a lot of us in the US that hunt down Japanese models because they are amazing and well made! My Gretsch was made in China, my Hamer in Korea and the quality control on them is impeccable! The key is in the QC! You always give a fair and balanced review that makes us more informed about what we might purchase. Rock on Kris! 😊👍

Good setup is a B... Broadly overlooked topic. If you want to explore this you could get yourself a feeler gauge and become familiar with every 0.1mm of your string action and nut height. (Last week I almost got insane while doing just this to two of my guitars. You are doing it at your own risk)

i had a chinese squire, and two chinese les paul jrs. when i was a kid. i sold those a long time ago when i briefly quit guitar but i remember them playing just okay. i was just a kid so i didn’t know how to set them up. a few months ago, i bought my first guitar since then to get back into it and it was an indonesian squire. i love it. i bought an indonesian g&l tele and i love it even more. i played some USA made g&ls, fenders, and gibsons and they felt amazing. but they were also set up better than some of the other guitars in the store. my point here is that there is an inherent quality difference in all of the guitars depending on where they are made. you made the point of quality vs. quantity. which is extremely true and reflects in the price. china made guitars will always feel that way. i think mexican fenders are the only guitars made outside of the US that feel extremely close to their american brothers and distance themselves a bit from indonesia, korea, and china. japanese models are also pretty up there. there is also a biased attitude towards the instruments when they get into the store. techs are going to set up a gibson usa les paul standard with a bit more care and love than they are a squire. that’s just how it is and it’s how it’ll always be. there’s no shame in it, it’s just how the world works

Nicely handled response to that comment. I'd add that the Shijie STE (China) strat guitar that I bought is beautifully made. To the point where I sold my Mexican strat and only play this. But their distribution is almost non existent in North America. It's a shame because the guitar is really well constructed.

I remember my brother's first guitar which was £120 squire... I could not stop playing this guitar. Seriously, I couldn't believe how good it was for the money.

Also a good example of "quality" guitar from US is Gibson... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Question for next Q&A: what do you think about Gibson buying Mesa Boogie?

All the best Kris
