2023 Toyota GR Corolla review by The Straight Pipes. The Toyota GR Corolla Core is putting down 300 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque from a Turbo 1.6L 3 cylinder engine. At $45,490 CAD, would you take it over Jakub's Cobb Stage 3 Fiesta ST, Civic Type R, Elantra N, Veloster N, Kona N, Golf R, used Focus RS, used Subaru STI?

What’s the best car you CAN buy on tsp.TrueCar.com?

Imagine how much of a bargain (relatively) this car would be if it was sold at MSRP! Love this car so much but dealers are going to put it out of reach for so many people… the majority of the car’s intended market/audience.

So we’re just supposed to ignore the fact that you went to the Hoonigan lot for those donuts?

It’s a shame that Toyota finally builds a proper hot hatch, but unfortunately nobody can easily get. Whether it’s finding one or allocating one, and once you do, you’re faced with crazy markups. It’s too bad, such a great hatch!!

I got mine 2 weeks ago, already put almost 3000km on it! Absolutely loving it so far!!!

It's so wild that the only reason this isn't as MASSIVE of a departure for Toyota is because the absolutely insane GR Yaris came first. In isolation, this is such a wild car for Toyota to have released. It's just the GR Yaris being fully bespoke bodied (where this has a modified Corolla body) makes it that extra bit special.

The price mark ups ruined this car. I was going to replace my Focus RS after 7 years but can't justify it. I'm on Ohlins Coilovers so it's great to hear that the only downside from Jakub was the suspension lol

Iv left deposits at so many dealerships here in Ontario and every single one cancelled on me. Toyota needs to make this available to anyone who wants it like GolfR, TypeR, A35 etc

My Core was MSRP + $1600 dealer add ons, $40.5K. Not the best deal but a reasonable one. IMO the GR is a damn good mid 40s car. It's not a good mid 50s car. At 73 my clocking is ticking a bit louder than some.

Just drove this car today, the 1.6T core. Its amazing, best car I've ever driven. So much livability but turn it to track mode and floor it and it's a little monster

I’ve been driving a golf R manual mk8 since more than a year. The corolla is more a rally car, but on the daily usage I’m happy to stay with the golf

Jacob if you really want a GRC, you need to get your name on a dealer list.
I put my deposit down April 1/2022.
You will be waiting a while.
Dealer called 2 weeks ago, said my supersonic red GRC will be arriving first week in April, at MSRP.
Can't wait.
By the way, I fully agree awd is the better platform to fwd, no wheel hop on hard acceleration, less understeer when cornering.

I don't feel so bad about missing out on this if you guys can't even get one. Looking forward to getting one 5-6 years from now, hopefully they make enough of them so that they actually depreciate like a normal car.
