How-To Expect Trust.
I was watching soccer several weeks back, and the commentator made what I consider to be a crucial point in our understanding of Data Management: "the centre-forward is the first line of defence."

Similarly, our data citizens are the first line of data quality and protection.
I would argue that they are the most crucial defence against data that we don't trust.

One element I observed to be missing from the DQ Context diagram is a DQ Expectation deliverable. Data management professionals don't always understand the context in which the citizens use the data.

The Data Citizens can explain and communicate a lot about what they expect of the data they will use for decision making.

So why are we not working with the Data citizens to formally define their expectations?

In this webinar, we spent a lot of time explaining what and why we need DQ Expectations.

I would love to know how many Data citizens are comfortable defining their data quality expectations.
