People don't understand how *huge* this is.
We have NEVER seen locations like Ashai and Sothoryos outside of small depictions and vague descriptions by Maesters, so the fact that they're actually finally willing to show these places (presumably in detail and interactions with their inhabitants), is just going to be a huge milestones for ASOIAF.

I'm not sure why everyone loves live action... Like we barely got to see the dragons and Ghost because of how expensive they're. Animation has no such restraints

I like the concept of having the events like Robert’s Rebellion in animation. Animation is more easier to follow through the lore than a live action, which usually subjected to frequent changes from directors.

I really really really hope it does well financially wise. I fear there is still a lot of resistance for animated series from the mainstream audience. Many people still see it as a child's thing. I fear that may lower the views. And I don't think HBO would invest in more animated series for their portfolio if they aren't very successful, even if they are lower budget. Animation is such a perfect medium for ASOIAF. The possibilities are endless!!!

Animation is arguably the best way to do fantasy. You don't have to worry about it looking "real" as long as the whole artstyle fits together it will work.

I just don’t get it. . . Would a Corlys animated show be “cool”? Sure. But people want George to FINISH the books. It’s literally the only job people want him to do. I don’t understand why people care about this prequel stuff when the main series is still unfinished. HOTD, and honestly GoT as well, should have never started until George was done with the book series. Now he’s so distracted with all these other projects that there’s a legitimate chance he’ll never finish the books.
