I can’t tell you how grateful I am that you took the time to do this video and explain it all in such detail! In getting my Presto Pressure Canner out tomorrow and going to finish my canning on my glass stop stove!

I have the same exact stove! Last night we pressure canned 20 pints of chicken, broth, and bone broth. We didn’t make any mistakes and all of the pints sealed. Thank goodness! We did however learn ways of doing canning more efficiently, as it took all day to cook 3 whole chickens in our instant pot and make the bone broth as well as pressure canning it all. Being our first time, my hubby and I are both happy with the outcome! Pressure canning chicken breast and hamburger tonight and tomorrow night as well. :)

I have the Presto 23 qt induction canner. I use it on a stand alone Simply Ming 1800 WATT induction burner. No problem reaching and maintaining pressure.

How do you get your PSI to stay even on glass top? I have the exact canner you do and can't find the magic setting to maintain 11 PSI. Help!

That is such great information. I have a glass top stove and don't do canning much because I'm scared to break it. Thank you so much for the tips!

Wow, this is the best information I've heard yet. I do have a glass cook top stove and I opted for the presto pot, both sizes. I haven't canned yet, but getting ready to. Thank you for this great information.

I have a monster All American Pressure Canner, 925= 25 quarts. I have a Kenmore Model 790.
Furthermore, I have pressure canned with this setup for over 10 years. My Kenmore stove says to not have any pot that extends more than 1 inch past the outer ring on the element. Mine is 1/4" past the limit .. Sue me. lol
The stove manual does make some good points, though ... NEVER run the oven while pressure canning, too much heat, NEVER run the pressure canner longer than 2 hours straight, and NEVER set the element temp dial to MAX/HIGH when attempting to bring a cold pressure canner up to steam mode, turn it to about 8/10, to give the glass top stove a chance to cycle while heating, which gives it a chance to cool a bit.
My model stove can hold a max of 50 pounds of combined weight, A 925 All American Pressure Canner weighs 25 pounds but with water and jars in it, which can add another 20 to 30 pounds, I'm careful because I'm at the stove limit.
PS: I used an outdoor BBQ with a propane side burner, but because the pressure canner was COLD when I first placed it on the burner, I have about 2 pound of SOOT all over the bottom and up the sides of my shiny pressure canner, it now looks like it's 50 years old. It took forever to clean the canner without inducing a million micro scratches.

I just recently watched your video on canning on a glass top stove. I have no problem but as I use it the spill over leaves burnt on messes. I used the recommended product to clean and it still didn’t get it all off. I was wondering as a long time canner if you could suggest something

I'm just now considering canning since we planted a large garden this year. It's a little overwhelming knowing what equipment to purchase so your video was a great resource. Thank you!

Just got thru calling Frigidaire. You can CAN on glass top as long as the canner is a FLAT bottom canner

Thank you. I have a GE electric glass top stove. I just started canning and I’m using the Nesco electric pressure canner. So far I like it. But you can only do 4 quart jars or 5 pint jars. Not horrible though. It’s very easy to use so far.

I don't see why boiling water isn't just boiling water and the same high temperature.

I have an all American 921 canner and a glass top stove. I have used both together several times without a problem. I prefer to use my propane burner on my grill, though.

We bought all new appliances approx. 10 years ago. I've always canned on the new glass top stove, even though hearing I shouldn't after buying it. It works, I've never had a jar not seal, but I'm not in love with it. HOWEVER, it seems that even the "regular" stoves "follow" the new energy efficient guidelines,

Jodie- if I didn’t mind spending the extra money on the induction compatible canner - are the two equal otherwise. Like is there any reason I would need to hesitate getting the induction one - are there different ‘rules’ to the two? Or all the same other than one is induction compatible. I have a glass top so I want to make sure it’s usable on that as well. Thanks for this great information/video!!
