Sinking Feeling

Sinking Feeling is PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide's short film which has been created in collaboration with the BAFTA Award-winning animation studio, Blue Zoo.

Launched on World Suicide Prevention Day 2021, Sinking Feeling explores themes of loneliness, isolation and the importance of peer support; it tackles the heart-breaking reality that many children and young people are suffering in silence without the vital help and support they need.

The Blue Zoo Virtual Choir recorded a cover of ‘True Colours’ by Cyndi Lauper to accompany the story of the short.

PAPYRUS is the national UK charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of the positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people.

Amazing work, and a powerful message. I just used this in a class with my students to discuss mental health issues and depression, and how we as a society must find a way to help those who don't know what to do or who prefer to believe they don't have these problems.

Talk to your friends. Hug your loved ones. You never know who might sinking and looking for someone to show their colors.
