Amazing video Dave! I'll collaborate with two points presented in your video:

1: I'm from the south of Brazil, and since our country is divided in 26 states (much like USA) i think that every state has it's own kind of "typical brazilian" ahahahah. In a suitable comparsion for you, imagine that Brazil is Europe and each state is a country (yes, that much of difference!)

2: Different from the scenario that people see in Rio de Janeiro, the rest of Brazil have poverty, but exists in other forms, it does'nt manifests only in the "Favela". Sometimes there are only neighborhoods with poor people, but still with better conditions that the Favela.

If you want to know more about this differences, i suggest you to search for the cities: Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Cuiabá and Belém. Those are all capitals from brazilian states, and show nicelly how big is Brazil's culture. Last but not least, keep the good work man :D Congratulations

I am a brazilian living in Berlin for almost 1 year now. Your video is very accurate, on your thoughts about Brazil, but also matches what I hear from my German colleagues in the office. Cheers, man!

I think we shoudn't be so afraid about stereotypes, sometimes they carry some truth. What is definitely important is to avoid getting sticked to them. I do appreciate your videos, they help me a lot with German language.

Dave, as a brazilian knowing some germans, I think you are right about what you told. Buuut, I should say that Brazil is much more than Rio and São Paulo (nothing against cariocas and paulistas, of course). Just saying that Brazil is big country and full of differences. If you come to Brazil, tell us, Dave. :)

We do speak portuguese, but it sounds different from that spoken in Portugal and others Portuguese speaking country. Our language is closer to galego, a language originally spoken in galicia, and had suffered influence from native American, Spanish, Italian and others immigrants languages that there arrived.

I love this series! Please, do What Germans think of Italy :D In Italy there are Always tons of Germans here in summer, especially on lakes, very close to where I live and Italy vs Germany football matches are between the most lit up! (but I'd say Germany is recently stronger than Italy in soccer, hope any other Italian reads this haha)

What is interesting to me is that germans always avoid to talk about the german influence in the brazilian culture. I mean germans from Germany, not the immigrants. The immigrants are an important element on the creation of the brazilian society, but today's germans seems to not admit it.

I've heard that many Germans like the company and friendship with Brazilians and they would like to have a relationship with a brazilian person. The brazilian behavior and appearance are very attractive to Germans. I think it's stereotype Europeans loving Brazilians, but I know that germans and brazillians can stay in a long and successful relationship, depite of cultural differences.
