"The Way of the Shroom"
Yes, we know what kind of nature they are about to proliferate.

Fun fact: Caoimhin is the Irish origin of Kevin!

The modern pronunciation is "kee-vin" but "koo-wee-vin" or "kwee-vin" has a bit of an medieval vibe that's probably appropriate for a fantasy game! There is also a feminine form, Caoimhe ("kee-va" or "kwee-va")!

Thanks for the great video!

"you don't have to play a cleric to worship a God"
I really wanted to hit this home with my players, We play in my homebrew worlds and each world has it's own Gods, some worlds they are more active than others.
One thing I did was to implement a system from pathfinder where each god has a "favoured weapon" and by being a follower of that God you gain the proficiency with that God's favourite weapon giving players a small but tangible bonus to following that deity.
I also tie this into resurrection and death, a soul has to be "free and willing" to return, and to make death and the afterlife have an impact I have an afterlife system for my worlds,
following and being true to the faith of a god usually rewards a character with a spot in that God's personal realm after death which can help them to avoid going to limbo or one of the hells. (which each realm having a description in my book of what they can expect to experience if they are brought there) some of the afterlife options are not pleasant and therefore being taken to a nice realm for all eternity has it's perks that interest players.

In terms of impact on our campaigns with the system, one of my players characters died and went to hell, he spent time serving a demon lord in order to secure a better deal in the hell he was at, during this time the player was playing the character's father desperately trying to find someone to bring his son back, when his son returned from the dead (the demon who now owned his soul allowed it in order to have an agent on the material world) the character returned but was deeply affected by his time in hell and his alignment and traits had shifted with this as did all of his interactions after being returned,

This channel inspired me to write my own Feywild campaign and I think I need advice on it. I’m mostly satisfied with what I have but parts of it are nagging at me.

To briefly summarize how things work, there are many courts and each are tied to a specific thing on the material plane (usually something of nature) and draw their magic from that thing. The Woodland Court is more powerful the more forests thrive, and the Gemstone Court is more powerful the more gems and rare minerals are in the earth. The Seelie Court draw from positive human emotions, the Unseelie negative emotions. The Court of Entropy draws on death, decay, and misfortune. I could go on.

I like this system because it gives each court different ways to gain power, with some courts being naturally opposed due to their sources of magic, and it essentially makes the material plane one giant game of chess for the Feywild. I’m going for a political unrest / revolution angle, so these are essential.

But, I can’t help but feel like I’m missing out on some fey staples. The chaotic nature, the inhuman morality, the incomprehensible rules. Is there a way I can incorporate at least some of this without compromising the political intrigue?

Kev is gonna show up at camp one day, spend a lazy afternoon chilling with the party, but not mention that he's totally a God. Doesn't want to bring that heaviness into the circle, ya know 😏

Kevin is not well known, because he doesn't advertise much, unlike most deities, he's not addicted to attention.

my characters already tried to adopt killmoulis (and almiraj!) and utterly failed. I'm sure kevin will make an appearance and offer assistance so that they can finally convince billmouli the killmouli to join them

All hail Kevin! Love this video. I plan on pulling these into Shadowdark. I'm also going to dig to see if there are more than three gods. Your channel is a breath of fresh air on YouTube. Keep up the good work!

"Don't be afraid to start a cult." Great advice. Thanks. Anyway, I'm definitely sharing Emmantiensien with one of my players.

Wonderful video! I really like these gods, and preparing my Feywild campaign I've recently included them in the lore... Although for the god of treants I portrayed him as an extremely old entity, nature itself, and did some sincretism so that Relkath of the Infinite Branches is the aspect of him that manifest as a god/archfey in front of others

I like to have gods of fairness. Where justice is lawful neutral (law over everything), fairness is neutral good (being decent over everything). Where a just god is fine with a tyrant but not with a starving man stealing a loaf of bread, a fair god reverses those. Lawful entities are fine with systemic unfairness so the disenfranchised need a deity who has their priorities straight.

Sounds weird but I would love to see some Feywild encounter ideas inspired by the Shrek movies or even puss in boots movies as well. I feel they would provide a wealth of comedic elements to a campaign that serves wonders for the players. Also for something horror, an encounter or so inspired by the Blair Witch project and the franchise surrounding that would honestly be interesting.

All Hail The Holy Big Kev. May we all find ourselves never too far from a couch on which to chill, and always full of vibes to share. Amen.

Me thinking about the fact that I’m running a campaign where the fey courts get stuck in the Material Plane, and Caoimhin was immediately depowered, killed, and mounted on a wall. So I killed Pooh Bear. (No worries, he’s a god so he’s still alive in a very Green Knight kind of way)

Great video. Is it just me, but the volume seems quite low...?
