My daughter is deployed right now, but when she gets back states side, I would like to take her and her family to a Jazz Ambassadors Concert.

The arrangement and performance are superb. And Staff Sgt. Preston Haining - what a great solo! Every note and beat here are magical. It's a classical piece, you brought it to a new dimension in every way.

Work has been so intense lately… you have no idea how much I wish to see such a performance in person to decompress. Can’t wait for you guys to come to Texas!

This battalion/squad (idk) should be called "The Big Band"

Just love it when soldiers do music, it's wholesome for some reason.

I just played this for our 7th and 8th grade jazz band concert. It’s hard but if you pay an instrument it’s easier than you think. I play saxophone for 7th grade.

_Memories😊…not directly of Strayhorn or Ellington, but my indoctrination by my older brother of the serenity derived from listening to John Coltrain, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and the like. I remember being eleven or so, listening to Coltrain and Davis while my brother would stand in the middle of the living room pretending he was playing the🎷Sax…by the way, I should say, we would “sneak” in my parent’s living room with the “45s” while my parents were out shopping😉. Nothing but Christian 😇music allowed in the house_

This is amazing! Definitely a much different version from the one the Air Force played. Also, why wasn’t first trombone playing?

Not really a fan of that arrangement. It felt like you were holding the musicians back.
Just a personal opinion, the band is way better than that arrangement.
I am pretty sure that Ellington's version swung way more than that arrangement.
