I think the most relevant point that made the skins crash when cs2 came out was because there was a lot of people buying and holding skins waiting for the “bigger player base” that cs2 would bring and they thought it would make the skins price even higher, doing that they inflated the skins price pre c2 launch, normal people were thinking that the skins were already too expensive and no one wanted to buy for that inflated price, then cs2 launches and the boom in skins price didn’t come and those who had stocked up on skins thinking the price would rise are dumping what they have, even more seeing the market crash they are fearing losing the money invested on the skins

I think it depends on the skins you have invested into as well. My inventory has, in total, increased in value since cs2 launched. However, I can see that some of my skins have definiteley dropped in price. Interessting to see some parts of the market crashing, whereas certain skins hold their value.

I think cs 2 did bring a lot of people just the hype is over, and skin changes.

many EXPENSIVE skins go down and many underrated skins go up. simpel as that. usp purple ddpat went high as fuck, same with glock brass. my friend opened classic blue steel. it was for 170$ weeks before csgo died, now its for 300$

that whole "value loss" makes absolut sense. i dont play CS anymore but love every video you puz out. and i havent played since 2019, but i already knoe 3 people, that bought skins in CSGO, just so they could profit in CS2. they tried to profit of an ingame item, that just experianced a visual upgrade. thats the dumbest investment after dogecoin. and i called all 3 of them "mentally unwell", which is a comment i dont like to make, because im 'bout to make the "room temperature challange" myself 👍

Well... I for one am not complaining. This sounds like a discount sale to me and I'm about to buy those skins that I've waited for so long to be at a reasonable price! Hehehe good job Valve!

this video obviously made me check my inventory to see how much my skins had dropped and I was dreading it, but weirdly for me like 95% of my skins have either stayed at the same price or gone up in value....wtf

Something logical I found was that investors buying high-end skins to resell really chose the wrong tier of things to invest in. New players aren't dropping hundreds to thousands of dollars on a game they are just starting. That's why high-end skins are going down. It's also why the lower tier skins, say things from the $5, $10, maybe all the way up to $50, are remaining stable, aren't dropping NEARLY as hard, or are even going up a bit.. These new players are grabbing a few cool skins for around $40 and are chilling. They don't need/want/have the money for Dragon Lores, FN Vice Gloves and gem knives.

My huntsman doppler phase 2 is completely pink now and it caused the price to go up. I'm sure not everyone knows about it yet but I absolutely love it. The price is still rising as people find out about it being 100% pink now.

If we use steam charts to try and guess what happened, approx 300.000 people lost the access or they lost the will to play CS2 (because of fps drop, stutters, missing maps, mods etc..) peak for CS:GO was about 1.5mil while after CS2 release its about 1.2 mil so 300k people are missing from the game

The Gamma/Doppler gems look off, you’re right on that. But tbh the phases look like the phases. Everything looks shinier due to lighting and so do they. Perhaps turn up the dark spots a bit more, but they are really nice and more distinguishable amongst the other phases.
