this could potentially be good, to some extent. so many people leaving means that someone can potentially take their place. its sad to see so many good content creators leave, but they cant go on forever, and someone else might also want to take a shot at becoming a successful youtuber.

In all honesty, I think it would be best if these YouTube creators did retire. They started off strong, and kept their head in the game. However, ever since YouTube no longer existed as a free platform like in the 2000's, monetization issues, advertising, among other issues has turned this website into an anarcho-capitalist cyber-dystopia. I have every reason to believe that those who are monetized with YouTube are being milked out of every penny they are making for themselves to work harder.

I don't think it would be such a bad thing if they did retire. After all, they have left archives of videos for us to enjoy long into the future. Like a book we enjoy, we can always return to it. The problem with a series that never ends, is that it becomes less and less enjoyable. Creative bankruptcy is real.

I believe the best course of action would be to boycott the monetization system, or for creators to make their own independent streaming websites using webrings and simple coding. As long as the monetization and copyright systems continue to exist on YouTube, the corporate ladder and those in cahoots with them like iShowSpeed, will stop at nothing to abuse the system. We no longer need to rely on corporate capitalism to sustain live content, when we can instead rely on free market capitalism.

YouTube cannot own us.
