Actually because of them not having an undercoat they can be considered hypoallergenic. Some people are allergic to the dander they produce while others are allergic to the protein in their saliva. If the person knows they are allergic to just the dander these cats are perfect for them, that's the case with my dad. We own two :)

I just lost my 16 year old ragdoll, to stomach cancer. She was my best friend. The smartest cat I've ever seen. I miss her so much. She was beautiful and sweet to the very end. The cancer was swift and horrible. I am so sad. Just had to write to say I was blessed with her sweet spirit for 16 years and I will always be grateful to have shared life with her.

We have our first Ragdoll and used to have Persians that passed a few years ago. Totally different cat. The Persians were sweet but very independent. This Ragdoll is incredibly playful, ridiculously cuddly, loves to sleep with my wife and I, and could replace my alarm clock as she wakes me up with purring and soft taps on the face when she's ready for breakfast.

I foster kittens for two years now and little male rag doll came with one of the litters this past month. Big blue eyes and one of the sweetest kittens I have ever met. And yes, we are keeping him. He is our third fail foster.

I had to say goodbye to a ragdoll a couple weeks ago. He gave me years of cuddles and happiness, and he seemed to start regarding my lap as a comfort zone. Every day with him was precious, and I'll miss him dearly.

The HCM issue is tough - we adopted a rag doll that was from a shelter. She was partially albino and an amazing kitty! Unfortunately, Flower passed away at age 4 due to the hardening of her heart.

The good news was that she was playing with her brother up till the very end and we were right there when it happened. Doctors told us that medication would have only extended by a little time.

Hah. Our 2-year-old ragdoll Leon is super energetic and was never happy just sitting at home. We've been going on several-kilometer harness walks with him since he was only a kitten. Even a 5-kilometer jog doesn't tire him out. He most definitely demands A LOT of exercise. Thankfully, we were of the thought of regularly going outside with our kitties but I didn't think it would be this much. Oh well, healthy for us humans as well.

I have a black half ragdoll and she is just amazing. Sweet, fluffy, soft and such a sweet and cuddly character. She loves to snuggle with me, on the couch or even in bed and indeed notices when i'm not feeling well and comes to comfort me.

I am a new owner, and I don’t really know what to do with my kitty yet. But thanks to this video, I now know how to treat my babies. Thanks a lot for creating this! 😊

My ragdoll cat is about 21 years old. She decided that after my sister brought her home I was her human. She took any opportunity to bolt into my room that she could even if you tried to keep her in a bedroom with the door shut. She knew the door would eventually open and she'd bolt. I'd hear my dad call out for her and I knew that if I turned away from my desk she'd be sitting on my bed right behind me looking right at me, looking for an opportunity to jump in my lap, or trying to climb on my desk and I didn't notice her yet.

We just got a ragdoll kitten that I named Vaelin, she's a blue seal point with zero fear, we're going to train her to go on walks once she turns 6 months

Just adopted a two year old ragdoll from a rescue centre. She is a beautiful cat with no health problems. So far I can see no down side. However the rescue centre gave us a good briefing on what to expect. Yes they do require a lot of brushing, attention etc but you get back what you give.

One of my cats growing up was a ragdoll. She would purposefully sit on my hands on my keyboard and insist on being pet, until she decides to bite. She also loved jumping onto the top of the dryer with a loud BOOM to get attention. Little chubby fluff momster

My 2nd oldest cat is a mix of a savannah and a ragdoll. I have 7 cats of all sorts, japanese bobtail, savannah, bengal, etc. The savannah ragdoll mix is easily my favorite. Ive had her since the day she was born. Even as a kitten she would sleep on my bed when the other kittens were sleeping with their mom. Shes extremely smart and can even open doors (we have childlock handles on the doors now). She has also imprinted on me specifically. Shes not a big fan of other people or other cats, but shes obsessed with me. She follows me around and gets super happy and purrs like crazy when she gets any attention at all. Shes like an Akita in that she bonds strongly to 1 owner over all others. She also LOVES playing hide and seek. Shes 14 years old and still going strong. Shes never had any illnesses or health problems whatsoever. Everyone who meets her assumes shes a young adult. I highly reccomend ragdoll mixes to anyone who wants a healthy long lived cat. You cant get healthier than a ragdoll mix. Ragdolls have virtually no health issues as is, and outcrossing them to another healthy breed makes them even healthier. American Bobtails and Japanese bobtails, and savannahs are fun too. They are ALL basically like dogs. They both have no concept of personal space and seek out affection from everyone who visits. My american bobtails is my most doglike cat, and my japanese bobtail is like a playful little terrier. Just a little ball of energy that one is lol. Hes curious to a fault though lol. He has absolutely no self preservation instincts compared to the rest. I have some very large pythons (burmese, reticulated, african rock, etc etc) that he is always trying to sneak a peak at. id NEVER let him get anywhere near them, Infact they are all very securelt locked up, but i find it crazy that he tries so hard to get to because they would absolutely eat him if given the chance. its almost like he's trying to get eaten. Let me reiterate though, they are ALL locked up with lock and key and have no access to my cats whatsoever. I would never ever ever allow my pets to injure eachother. I absolutely love both cats and reptiles of all sorts.

My beautiful girl was put to sleep 2 days ago. She was just 12 years old and the sweetest, smartest, fluffiest companion. Those times we had together were so precious. She suffered from chronic kidney failure. It rapidly progressed at the end. She totally knew my habits as once everyone else in the house went to bed, she would join me on the sofa in front of the tv and we would just chill together, miss her so much. Thats the only cat breed I will ever get if we got another one. Very trainable too, I would call her and she would run to me instantly. An amazing cat.
