15Kw is a lot of power you would have to be able to generate. 2 to 12 seconds really is not fast enough and how long before laser resistant materials are used on drones?

The reason they want to use lasers is cost. You could use a Brimstone missile that costs to shoot down a cheep commercial drone that costs a couple of thousand pounds. Does not make any economical scene. This is unlikely to work against larger military drones or aircraft. That is what Brimstone is for.
