Love this pilot for 1) correct ICAO terminology 2) gave ATC intentions on the MAYDAY transmission 3) Told ATC what he needed to do in the air and 4) was calm cool and collected the whole time in what had to be a high load stressful situation. ATC get's props too for being clear and helpful all the way down. Good job by everyone. This should become classroom material!

This crew is doing an excellent job of aviate, navigate, and then communicate. They are dealing with their emergency by flying their aircraft and then letting ATC know what they need from them.

One person in this cockpit gets to practice that maneuver every 6 months; the other person every year. Been there, done that, and have the tshirt. These pilots handled it like the pros they are. Great training and practice makes for great outcomes. And ATC also provided a very commendable assist.

The pilot sounded like it was just a normal day

Its helpful that he identified himself as an emergency aircraft somewhat frequently. Could have forgotten he was having one he was so chill

Has been 28 years since retirement, brought back many memories . So many emergencies of damaged F4's in Vietnam War.

Been binging a lot of your videos. As a frequent flier but not a pilot these videos are surprisingly comforting to see how all these emergencies and worst-case-failures are handled by ATC and pilots. Gives me peace of mind knowing even if crap hits the fan, they'll be able to get us to the ground safe and sound 99% of the time

Cockpit resource Management with ATC. Should be proud of their training. Plus the 180 souls on board

Well done guys. Excellent team work. It seems easy, but a lot of hard work was needed to open way to this aircraft! Outstanding controllers support

Great job by all & the 8 knots of wind almost straight down the runway was a bonus.😀

'This is your captain speaking, ladies and gentlemen. You may have noticed that we have lost an engine. By 'lost' I don't mean it fell off; it just stopped working. But don't worry, we have a spare one on the other side, so we'll just go back to the airport to find a guy with a spanner. We have to go back, because he doesn't have a ladder 8000 feet high moving at 220 knots, so we have to go to where he is. Something to do with FAA regulations. We'll just cruise about a bit up here to line up with the runway, land you back where you started, then ask the airline to find us a plane with two working engines. There will be no charge for this extra sight-seeing tour. My name is not Sully so I'll be landing you on a runway, not a river, which means you won't have such good selfies for your grand-children. Sorry about that. And we'll let you know when we've landed, in case you don't notice unaided.'

Great job guys.
They got over the pucker factor really quickly and handled the entire thing like pros.
