Nisi Athena Cine Lens Test Footage - Sony FX3 and FX30

The Nisi Athena Primes are awesome. Yes I've actually compiled footage from both the Sony FX3 and FX30 (unlike many clickbaiters claiming they've shot on the pyxis but really just using the bmcc). I love the slight lean into greens that these have and I've found they do exceptionally well with the colors in nature. At roughly $1200 per lens they're not exactly cheap but do keep an eye on the Nisi website as they often have sales or special deals. My next lens will probably be the Dulens Apo Mini Primes so stay tuned, they seem to be pretty awesome as well for a comparable price!

These lenses look great, but they have absolutely no character in my opinion. I know you said the opposite in this video, but after using my Contax Zeiss lenses for so long, these just really lack something special. They're great, clean, sharp, clinical... but for me, they kind of lack a special look for narrative work.

That being said, some in camera softening and the right lighting can really help, a great LUT and color process can take it the rest of the way. So I think they're totally worth it.
