Those "knobs" are to avoid aplying all the weight of the console to the slides when is laying on a surface, instead to apply it to the main body that is more sturdy, you even can see how it flexed when you pushed it down slightly.🙃

Ok, because it was so good I just feel like people aren't going to mention it. The work that went into that ad. Throwing the package back and forth. That was seamless! Deserves mad props.

100% DO NOT remove those nubs, they stop the screen flexing & prevent stress on the Joy-Con rails. Great video, Bob!

I think the nubs are to relieve pressure on the joycon rail when the switch is sitting flat, because after you sheered them off, when you pushed a button the connection between the splitpad and the switch bent noticibly

9:45 Those nubs are designed to stop the controllers from flexing against the screen assembly. DO NOT REMOVE THEM! Doing so can irreparably damage the tracks and connections the joy-cons attach too.

Bob always does something INSANE in every video like “modifying” brand new controllers by dismembering them. Pretty sure those ”nubs” help stabilization when slightly flexing the controllers in handheld mode

People are probably right that those knobs are to protect the joycon rails from extra pressure, but it seems like theyd also be a useful grip when you press the release button to slide the controllers off.

Looks like the nubs prevent the Switch from getting warped when it's laying flat. I wouldn't recommend removing them based on comparing the footage in this video from before and after they were removed. The Switch bends noticably more after their removal when Bob presses the buttons as a demonstration.

I believe that nub on the controller is used to support the Switch console when playing to prevent the Joy-Con rail became loose over time.

You should test the deadzones on the joysticks whenever you make videos about 3rd party controllers because for me thats the most important part that makes or breaks a controller. I say this because I typically find that with a lot of these 3rd party controllers the sticks have large deadzones and really make the controller feel cheap and unresponsive.

damm, the editing for this ad is impressive AF, really feels like you leveled up the double bob interactions. also im judging your messy desktop so hard.

The nubs add twisting rigidity and make the switch feel a lot more like a single object rather than just 3 that are held together by the rails alone. They're not necessary, but they go a long way in making the switch feel more like a unit than without. I wish more large joycon used them.

That throwing the package between eachother bit was crazy, I see what you did inspecting closely after a few rewatches but definitely got me enough to make this comment

Several companies made cases to hold the Switch with the Split Pad attached. I bought one from ButterFox for @$20 called the "ButterFox Grip Carry Case for Hori Nintendo Switch Split Pad Pro Controller, Compatible with Nintendo Switch OLED Model".

That’s why I like the Nexigo controller. All the comfort of the OG split pad pro, 4 back buttons that can be mapped to any button, gyro, and vibrate. Edit: I hadn’t finished watching the video. Not the Nexigo in this video, there is one that goes around the WHOLE switch, so it’s incredibly sturdy since it doesn’t use the joycon rails.

I'm still amazed on how you got the factor box to hit other Bob twice and edited that seamlessly

Bob's product spots just keep getting better. Better than most of the adds I skip past and way better than the ones I'm not able to skip.

The nubs you cut off are there to stabilize the controller so it doesn't flex the rails if you push on them. Blocks it from bending past a certain point. Adds a bit of a feeling of rigidity. Probably not necessary

Nintendo could just use the gyro INSIDE THE TABLET ITSELF. You can play Quake with Hori Split Pads and Gyro controls but not Splatoon 2/3. Why???

I had to watch the AD again frame by frame because it was so smooth.
