Measles virus-characteristic white spots on mucous membranes in mouth (Known as Koplik's spots). Within 24 hrs skin rash appears.
Complications-Pneumonia, Encephalitis( swelling of the brain), Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE)-fatal complication-slow progressive disease of central nervous system.
Active immunization-MMR=mumps, measles, rubella
Schedule: First dose at 12-15 months; second dose at 4-6 years old

I wonder if the anti-vaccination ("vaccine safety" if you wish) proponents have anything to do with this increase in the cases of measles and the decline in the number of inoculations against the disease. I'd guess an emphatic yes. Where's the safety in discouraging the application of such vaccines and encouraging these diseases to regain a foothold and help cause needless deaths? It baffles the mind.
