Dry Needling for Trigger Points - Erector Spinae
Показать описание
The erector spinae muscles are constantly working - most people will develop trigger points here - and they are often a quite easily treated cause of chronic back pain.
The Iliocostalis and Longissimus are both very long back muscles that run parallel with the spine.
Pain from active trigger points is typically referred downwards into the lower, mid and upper the back.
These muscles are used almost all the time when you are awake, as they are important "posture" muscles.
It is this constant activity that makes them so vulnerable to developing active trigger points.
Regular massage, trigger point therapy treatment (where required), and stretching, may help to avoid the onset of active trigger points.
When trigger points become active in these muscles they are relatively simple to locate and treat.
Common trigger point treatment techniques include deep tissue massage, ischemic compression, dry needling (medical acupuncture) heat and ice, stretching, static and vacuum cupping, and kinesio taping.
