Hope you enjoyed this video! 😃 When I was watching this movie in the theatre there was loads of laughter which did surprise me! I'm guessing it's some peoples way of dealing with horror elements in movies. Something I've never thought about before! Are you a laugher in these situations? Comment below!

A good point was that the “mother” kept seeming to look more and more wet. Very similar to the first spirit Mia spoke to, who seemed to have been drowned. I think her “mother” was the first spirit impersonating her

Ending was my favorite. Her seeing the mirror after mentioning it earlier as her recurring nightmare GOOD SHIT.

Every scene with Riley try9ng to hurt himself had me and the entire theater reeling. I had to turn away a few times and just felt terrible for him. Overall, this movie was a great watch and im also glad it didnt have any cheap jump scares

Riley looking normal and recuperated was a result of perception of time in the afterlife. To Riley it was a few minutes from going to the hospital, but when she grabbed the hand in the darkness, the hand was at a new party so a lot of time had gone by.

What I found insane about the movie is they ALL see the ghosts everytime they touch the hand. And everybody is cool with it. They know its 100% real. Nobody thought to take it to the police or the news. They just touch the hand like its a bong hit. Insane. These kids had access to the afterlife and they just used it like a toy.

10/10 from me. Didn’t expect such an intense horror film. Riley’s scenes were crazy! Good to see a original horror that’s not all about jump scares.

The Kangaroo is symbolic of Riley. Mia left it the first time and felt guilty. The spirits sent a vision back to Mia to remind her of the guilt she felt in an attempt to apply that guilt to Riley.

The scene where Riley was being tortured/eaten by all those old naked spirits was pure nightmare fuel and I personally believe it was a reference to hell. Seeing a child being violated like that and screaming for their life was something out of nightmares, it was horrifying and it messed me up. 😢

I really liked the use of Jade remaining the “clean”/sober one. Her part in the addiction allegory shows how a “morally superior” person can still be complicit to a loved one’s addiction.
Jade aided Mia’s addiction through inaction. She knew Mia was mentally struggling and gave into Mia’s pressure to go check out the new high.
I think by staying sober Jade felt like she could maintain control over the situation. But you can successfully babysit a party multiple times just to have it spiral out of control once. That’s all it takes for someone to die. She told her brother no. Then she left the room for one second and Mia let Riley touch the hand.
Don’t get me wrong—Mia is still responsible for her actions. But Jade kept her secrets and helped score the invitations to the parties. Giving addicts tools for self destruction further fuels the cycle.

I hate prequal and spin-offs but I would love an origin story about the hand. The people who wanted that power, or spirits influencing them to take it.

(Small spoiler warning) I think the vision of the Kangaroo at the end was part of the spirits' manipulation of Mia. When they drove past it in the beginning, Riley kept telling Mia that they need to put it out of it's misery, but Mia ended up not doing it. The spirits used that against her in order to further manipulate her with her guilt and what Riley had said, to "do the right thing this time" and put HIM out of his supposed misery, which she couldn't bring herself do for the kangaroo.

I can’t tell if when her dad went on the elevator, that he was going to Heaven (which is why he couldn’t hear her cause she was stuck in limbo) OR that he somehow lived just like how we saw Riley’s family living and well in the same scene … the dad did lose a lot of blood but Jade found him so maybe he got help in time

The kangaroo is supposed to foreshadow her decision with Riley later on in the film. At first she can’t bring herself to put the animal out of its misery, but then she realizes this is what she MUST do to save Riley.

Great film, I liked that Mia wasn’t portrayed as perfect.

She pushed the kid to play the game, she liked that her best friends boyfriend got possessed, and kind of flirted with her.

She was very flawed, and it helped make for a great character with depth in a rather short film.

I'm evaluating this movie in comparison to other recent horror releases. In comparison to other movies that have come out, I can't help but truly like this one. This idea is very innovative and new. They could add so much to the story. Personally, I believe that adding more Lore to this film and more explanation will allow for a more in-depth comprehension of the demonic Item. What makes this a fantastic film is that it leaves you with so many unresolved questions. Alternatively, for those who prefer to be left with how the film is portrayed, the unsolved questions may be answered depending on your perception. I sincerely hope this film receives a prequel for the lore or sequel for what happens next.

Riley survived because Mia was the only way for the demon to have him killed. Once she was gone, the spirits had their soul and they didn’t have a way to him anymore.

*Edit*
BUT i could be wrong & that’s the cliff hanger that makes it possible to have a sequel😏

I liked the tone of this film. It was very unsettling. I wasn’t going in expecting a gore fest by any means. The ending was was crazy.

The dying kangaroo referenced the dying deer in Get Out. Both symbolized the pain of losing ones mother. Rileys self harm in Talk to Me reminded me of a similar scene in Heredity. IMO These were more than coincidence. Still, they were very effective .
