This video is absolutely amazing because I have the exact same issue and needed to know all of these issues as I will have to tackle them all as well. Thanks for the video.

Thanks for the help. Very informative video. Loved the sound effects on the male to female connection. 😂

Nice video, one thing I would do in addition is after installing the up pipe on the city water side turn the water on and blast any remaining debris out of the pipe. Good job. Thanks for taking us on the journey with you...

Nice job! Mine cracked in the same place. One of the best DIY videos I’ve seen.

Well, did a good job - did get some chuckling when I you mentioned removing a few parts before realizing what would happen (removing pipe before “clearing” was a lesson to learn 😏.

The “male -Female elbow is commonly called a “street Ell”. Come in handy

The tape you used is good tape - I have been using that for sometime now.

Love watching someone tackle something to learn -, laugh and move on with mistakes and learn - but you took time to explain the BF valve, which most people don’t understand. Kudos.

Good job. And your finished product was “neat” and not looking like crap like the “pro” did installing my system 3 years ago. (I’m just relaxing the bonnet (hope)

Thanks for posting. Enjoyed it. You put some great info out there for new DIYrs that want to tackle this.

Likely saved 200-250$ in labor there.

Loved your video, and sense of humor... Thank you for sharing... I have to change mine tomorrow due to low sprinkler pressure in all zones. Plumber estimates ranged from so after watching this video, I have mustered up the courage to give it a shot :-) Only issue is mine is underground so a little confined on space... but thank you for giving me the courage 🙂

This is an incredible/detailed video. You made it look simple, probably won't be, but it's worth the try.

It would be a wise move to do some maintenance and not wait until it does not work. . I would use a sch 80 plastic pipe and fittings to replace the metal pipe. Or sch 40

I subscribed solely due to the male/female comment.

Nice, and I like the guitars also. I’m just getting ready to upgrade mine but since it’s still good as they say if it’s not broke don’t fix. 👍

Thanks for making the video. With the frozen union I would have taken a Sawzall at the galvanized elbow on the city side of the water supply and replaced the elbow with the back flow unit. I found Superzilla works much better on rusted threads than WD-40 and probably would have loosened the Union, but I would have replaced everything like you did anyway. Thanks

Can those pressure relief valves also be used to blow out the system if you live in an area that freezes?
