My sister and I moved in with our parents to take care of them when they were old and we both worked. It also helped me having my sister there because I have epilepsy. After our parents died, we took care of each other and still do.

While they are often used interchangeably there is a difference between barbequing and grilling. To simplify things: Cooking hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. on an outdoor grill is grilling while slow-cooking with sauces, marinades, etc. is barbequing. Grilling is fast while barbequing is slow. Basically. Cheers.

I will say I live with my parents still and I’m 31. Granted it’s an apartment attached to there house and I give them money each week, but it’s just me and my dog so it works out. Plus I do have some health problems and earlier this year I got nemonia and was sick. I got to the point it was hard to move and walk. My parents had not seen me for a few days and my mom came over and I couldn’t get up to even get the door. They used there key came in and when I tried to stand up to see them I couldn’t stand at all. They got me to the car and brought me to the hospital. I ended up having blood poisoning caused by the nemonia. I couldn’t get my phone charger and my phone was dead. It saved my life and I’m great full for living with them because of that.

In my lifetime, there used to be $1 coins as well as $0.50 coins in common circulation. They have been out of production for a number of years - but there are still some out there and they are valid currency.

I grew up near the New River, which starts in western North Carolina, enters western Virginia, and passes into West Virginia. It flows through some of the oldest topography in the world, is considered to be older than some of the mountains around it.

Millie’s “gas” comment and James’ reaction…omg I’m dying. If I had been drinking something I would’ve done an actual spit take. You two are just so adorable together.

My parents helped me before I could help myself. They did expect me to be on my own but guided me until I could do so. I have physical disabilities, but my parents never allowed me to use it as an excuse, but used patience as I did my best. Guess what. I did it and I am completely on my own. They are there if I need them, but as of for now, I completely support myself. To me, that is "cool".

For a lot of American parents, it is a proud day when their child leaves home and starts their own life.

Concerning GPS and maps. Older folks wouldn't have a problem without GPS because GPS to us is something relatively new to us. When you have driven many years without it, you have routes indelibly carved inside your brain. Well, at least I do.

We live in the desert Southwest so our summers are HOT. We avoid the oven like the plague and use the grill instead so we don’t heat up the house. We probably use the grill four times per week in the summer.

Another fact to add to those is the US-Canada border is the longest international border in the world, and one of the friendliest. It used to be you only needed a valid US identification like a driver's license to cross into and back from Canada. No passport or visa necessary. However things have now changed and there are a lot more requirements. Still no visa for citizens of each, but an "enhanced" drivers license is required and a passport is recommended. (This only applies to ground travel. Air travel requires a passport.) You also have to have an up-to-date Covid vaccination card or equivalent.

About the time you two were born, my fiance (now husband of 24 years) & I came to England to go to the Isle of Mull to get married; I drove all over England & Scotland (over 2000 miles, we explored!), on the other side of the rode, never having used roundabouts...with only maps as guidance. I drove, he was my GPS (we still have the Road Atlas with yellow highlighter markings for where we camped/stayed & all the roads we took).

My children's grandparents on the other side of the family BBQ almost everyday. Even when it is negative 40 outside. 😂

The kid who designed the flag got a failing grade in the design from his teacher. Later in life he was given an "A".
