How to Calculate Monthly Sales Percentage in Excel

First, I will show you how to calculate sales percentage in excel without using function and then, I will demonstrate how to calculate monthly sales percentage using PercentOf Function.

Overview of the PERCENTOF Function:
The PERCENTOF function calculates the percentage a subset makes up of an entire dataset. It’s especially useful when working with GROUPBY and PIVOTBY functions.

Syntax: =PERCENTOF(data_subset, data_all)

data_subset: The subset of values.
data_all: The complete dataset values.

PERCENTOF is equivalent to manually calculating =SUM(data_subset)/SUM(data_all) but saves time and effort!
