Somehow this guy has kept it together through 2 TRAGIC suicides from 2 of the most important frontmen that he played in bands with in the history of Punk. The Germs were part of the birth of punk and Nirvana was part of the tail end of the 2nd wave of punk and obviously the band who REALLY brought punk to the masses.

An unbelievably important musician with a life surrounded by horrible tragedy and he keeps it going. What an inspiration.

Always loved Pat in Nirvana. Would have loved to see what could have come from another album with Pat on guitar.

This is so fascinating. The little story needs to be told like that, by people close, who lived it. When you’re 16 in France, you don’t have a single clue. But it’s so great to hear about it, thanks for sharing ♥️

Good interview, it's nice how he gets straight to the point in answering the question making it truly fascinating.

"Wow, you can do that! But we never did." I love that line.

I remember when Pat worked at SST on Sunset and Larrabee in LA!
Damn I’m old!

If the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame operated as it should operate, I think Pat Smear would have the most inductions out of anyone.

Pat went from being interviewed on a small, independent film no one ever paid attention to to being interviewed by the Kennedy Center! Yes!

His last comments made me think of the compilation album “This is Boston, not LA”

Pat Smear gave one of the best one-liners when asked why they named their band The Germs:

"Because we make you isn't it obvious?"

I cannot think in a person who has been part of three influential bands, just Pat he is the only one I guess
