Comparing Fractions Using Numerators

I discuss how to use common numerators to compare fractions. I explain that if the numerators are the same, the smaller denominator indicates a larger fraction. I use pictures and a number line to help show why this is true. I then show how to get a common numerator between two fractions.

This is for a Mathematics for Elementary Teachers course. This is a three semester course.
